A Too Cool Career
Scotty 2 Hotty made his first appearances for WWE back in 1991 where he worked as an enhancement talent, but it wasn't until 1997 when he officially signed with the company, being involved in the Light Heavyweight division.
However, Scotty is best remembered for his time within the group, Too Cool. He began teaming with Grand Master Sexay at WrestleMania XIV and the two of them would incorporate elements of rap into their characters to get over.
In 1999, Rikishi was added to the group, which also brought in some dance moves as well. This became one of the most iconic parts of the Attitude Era, with the trio growing an amazing legion of fans along the way.
While Scotty was never one of the top-tier talents in the company, he was a fan favorite, with his Worm finisher being one that audiences would happily interact with.
He brought a lot of comedy into the industry, but he was also a solid in-ring talent, putting together some tremendous matches. Throughout his time in WWE, Scotty held the Tag Team Championships twice, as well as being the Light Heavyweight Champion as well
Giving Back To The Industry
Scotty's main run with the company came to an end in 2004, but he did appear in 2007 as well, although it was at this point he was released from the company. He also made appearances in NXT as well, sporadically where he reunited with Grand Master Sexay to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles.
However, his in-ring career came to an end in 2016, after a run on the independent scene, with his final match being alongside Sexay for the HPW 18 Years Anniversary Show. But since then, Scotty has continued giving back, not just to the wrestling community, but the world.
When his main wrestling career came to an end, Scotty 2 Hotty kickstarted a totally different, but even more challenging career. That's because he became a firefighter in 2013, graduating from the Lake Tech Fire Academy.
He also went on to train as an emergency medical technician too, proving what type of a person he is overall. However, while he grew a great career for himself outside of the ring, he didn't completely give up on the wrestling business.
Scotty returned to the industry in 2016 where he once again resigned with WWE. This time, he was around to work in a non-wrestling role and instead gave back to the business outside of the ring.
Scotty now works as a coach at the WWE Performance Center, which is something that he does alongside various other talents. The company has a loaded roster of coaches from William Regal and Matt Bloom to Shawn Michaels and Terry Taylor.
Scotty is one of those members, putting his touch onto the current industry, helping out the talents of tomorrow. Considering the success of NXT, and the talents that are coming from the company, it's fair to say the coaches are doing a great job.
However, Scotty also works as a live event producer for the black and gold brand as well. Scotty helps to put matches together with the talents, using his vast experience to take the industry to even greater heights than when he was involved.
