WWE Superstars Left Frustrated Over Missing Matches As SmackDown "Got Vinced"

We are fast approaching the one-year anniversary of a day in wrestling history most of us thought we would never see. The WWE retirement of Vince McMahon. The thing is, as many predicted at the time, McMahon just couldn't stay away. Returning at the turn of the year, supposedly just in a backstage role to help with WWE's sale and upcoming TV deals, again as expected, McMahon hasn't been able to stop himself from getting more involved.

SmackDown Got Vinced

It has been known for a while that despite Triple H heading up WWE's creative team, McMahon has been sticking his nose in again, sometimes more often than not. It seems this week's SmackDown was a show that falls into the more often category. Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp confirmed on Twitter that Friday night's show “Got Vinced”.

A number of changes were made to the card with a couple of advertised matches disappearing entirely without explanation. Bayley vs. Shotzi, a match set up a full week prior which Bayley promoted just hours before the show went live, simply didn't happen. Bayley replied to her own tweet promoting the match apologizing to her fans, adding that the card is subject to change.

Good News And Bad News For LA Knight

Baron Corbin and Cameron Grimes were also supposed to have a rematch on SmackDown and that didn't happen either. The third big change to the advertised card was the absence of a pretty big triple-threat match. Money in the Bank participants Butch, LA Knight, and Santos Escobar were supposed to compete. That match was replaced with a one-on-one bought between Knight and Rey Mysterio.

The silver lining for that last one is Knight picked up the win. A positive sign indicating even if McMahon tries to get involved in deciding who wins this year's Money in the Bank ladder match winners, Knight may still win. The man briefly known as Max Dupri is reportedly the favorite to win the men's match in London next week, something that will definitely get a huge reaction from the fans if it manifests.
