WrestleMania Axxess To Feature Four Championship Tournaments

WrestleMania Axxess has become a huge part of WrestleMania weekend but this year WWE appear to want to make it bigger than ever.

It is nothing short of incredible how much of a global phenomenon WrestleMania has become over the past few decades. From an idea in Vince McMahon's head to the biggest show in wrestling every year that can fill stadiums with over 100,000 fans if needed. It's no longer just a one night event either and wrestling takes over the host town for an entire week.

WrestleMania may not take place until Sunday night but before that you have NXT TakeOver and the night before that is the Hall Of Fame ceremony. Plus in New Orleans over the course of the next week there will literally be more wrestling shows than you can physically attend. Wrestling promotions from all over the world piggyback on WWE and the fact that the city will be teeming with wrestling fans.

A big part of those pro wrestling festivities will be WrestleMania Axxess and judging by the announcement on WWE.com this week this year's Axxess will be bigger than ever. It will feature four tournaments including various different Superstars, the winner of each of them getting title shots on the Sunday when Axxess comes to an end. The title shots up for grabs will be for the UK Title, NXT Women's Title, NXT Tag Team Titles and also the NXT North American Title.

As well as the four invitational tournaments and then the four title matches on the Sunday there will also be a number of unique matches that will pit NXT Superstars against wrestlers from Progress and Evolve including a battle for the WWN Championship between Keith Lee and Kassius Ohno. Participants from the Mae Young Classic will also be competing.

Fans heading to WrestleMania Axxess this year certainly have a lot to look forward to. If you're in attendance on the Sunday then you will be around for four championship matches, one of which will be the first ever defense of the NXT North American Title after the first champion is crowned at NXT TakeOver on the Saturday night. It's also good to see that the relationships between WWE and Progress and Evolve are still in place.
