Since before they even put on their first show, PAC was one of the first AEW originals. He came into the company as a major name, having made waves in WWE and various independent promotions prior. Since then, PAC has achieved a lot of success in AEW through his immense talent in the ring. For the last few months, however, PAC has not been seen on AEW television. Except for a comment made on commentary by Tony Schiavone, there have been no updates on PAC’s expected return date nor what injury he is dealing with. It is truly unfortunate as PAC had made his return to AEW shortly before this latest injury.

What PAC Was Doing In AEW Prior To His Injury

Prior to this injury being announced, PAC had made his return to AEW. Before this, he had not been seen after some major losses. He lost the AEW International Championship to Orange Cassidy. He lost AEW World Trios Championships with Death Triangle, consisting of himself, Penta El 0 M, and Rey Fénix, to The Elite in a Best of Seven series. This time, however, he was returning to team with The Blackpool Combat Club to face The Elite. He was a great choice to team with The BCC, as he did have previous encounters with The Elite.

On that night, The BCC lost to The Elite. It also saw PAC get annoyed with Claudio Castagnoli. This led to a ROH World Championship match as Castagnoli defended his title against PAC at Death Before Dishonor. PAC lost that match. While he did wrestle another match on an episode of Dynamite where he beat Gravity, PAC has not been seen on AEW television.

AEW Announces PAC's Injury

On an episode of Rampage on August 4, 2023 (h/t Wrestling Inc), Tony Schiavone said, “PAC is injured.” He further added, “He is not able to compete for quite a while now.” This is not the first time that PAC has been absent from AEW television for an extended period of time. This has been due to injuries in the past and being unable to travel to the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of writing, it has not been revealed what injury PAC is dealing with and there have also been no updates on if he will be returning anytime soon.

PAC Has Been An Asset To AEW

It is truly unfortunate that PAC will be gone from AEW for yet another extended period of time. When he has been on television, PAC has consistently and constantly shown his exciting high-flying style of wrestling mixed with the aggressive and ruthless attitude that he has shown. He has had great feuds against “Hangman” Adam Page, Orange Cassidy, and Eddie Kingston. He was a part of a great triple threat match for the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega and Cassidy. He was also the inaugural AEW International Champion when he won the title at the first AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show.

In addition to his accomplishments as a singles competitor, PAC has also been highly successful with Pental El 0 M and Rey Fénix as a member of The Death Triangle. They are easily one of the most successful factions in AEW history. They have been AEW World Trios Champions and put on a phenomenal Best of Seven series against The Elite for those titles. At one point, PAC was a dual champion when he held both the AEW International Title and was an AEW World Trios Champion. Taking into account both his career as a singles and trios competitor in the company, it is easy to see that PAC has been a major asset to AEW.

PAC was a great choice as one of the inaugural signees to AEW when the company was just starting. As time has gone on, he has shown how great he truly is. It is unfortunate that fans will not be able to see him on television for the foreseeable future. However, when he does return, it will be great to see him back in the ring. While PAC has accomplished a lot in AEW, there is still a lot more for him to do. Whether it be in AEW or ROH, PAC can put on a lot of phenomenal match of the night contenders on a regular basis. AEW only continues to grow and grow, with more big shows being put on and more names coming into the company. As one of the first wrestlers to join the promotion, PAC will certainly be making more and more history while he is signed to AEW.
