With Outlast being praised by viewers, it isn't hard to wonder what happened to Team Charlie after winning the one-million-dollar grand prize.
Team Charlie won Netflix's first season of Outlast, but what happened to them once they walked away with the one million dollar cash prize? Thanks to its extreme gameplay, the newest survivalist show to hit the small screen was praised by Netflix viewers. With 16 contestants, it was anyone's game to lose.
The Outlast game was simple as they dropped 16 semi-outdoors-like people into the wilderness of Alaska. The show revealed there was only one rule; to win, you had to be a part of one of the four team-Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, or Delta. Since most of the competitors were lone wolves who preferred solitary confinement to company, the task was jarring. As the days passed, the game took a turn when Team Alpha decided to play dirty and steal Team Delta's sleeping bags. Outlast highlighted what lengths some players would go to in order to try and win. While others played an honorable game, there could only be one winner.
Team Charlie Played A Fair Game On Outlast
Early on during the eight-episode series Team Charlie which consisted of Seth Lueker, Paul Preece, and Nick Radne, were a strong team. The men worked together and used their strengths to propel them forward within the game. Team Charlie made it clear that they wanted to play an honest game, and even though they aligned themselves with Team Alpha, they never backstabbed the other team. After spending cold nights and long days out in Alaska after one final push, Seth, Paul, and Nick were able to bring home the Outlast grand prize.
Where Is Team Charlie Now?
Almost immediately after winning his share of the money, Seth revealed to Netflix Tudum that he first ate a ham sandwich. Seth still lives with his family in Winchester, Virginia, and recently took part in a hike on the Appalachian Trail. Seth also told Screen Rant that he had paid his debt off and would be looking to start a family soon. Paul shared that he and his fiancé purchased a home with his share, while Nick revealed he invested in a trucking and a wood-flooring company. Nick divulged that he pretends the winnings don't exist and continues to live off his teacher's salary.
With Outlast season 1 in the books, Netflix has yet to confirm if they will film a second season. With the series' popularity exploding, it seems likely that a new set of cast members will be announced soon. The streaming service may need to tweak their show a bit and make sure there are some rules in place to provide safety, but if $1 million is up for grabs again, the odds are good the strong will survive.
