Vince McMahon's Grandson Is Already Eyeing Up An In-Ring WWE Career

Highlights

  • WWE has been officially sold to Endeavor, forming a new company called TKO, but the McMahon family still remains involved.
  • Declan McMahon, Shane McMahon's son, is already thinking about getting into pro wrestling and potentially following in his family's footsteps.
  • With wrestling in their blood and several McMahon grandchildren, it's likely that at least some of them will become WWE Superstars in the future.

After generations of McMahon ownership, WWE was officially sold to Endeavor this year, forming a new company called TKO which has seen WWE and UFC merge. That doesn't mean the McMahon family is gone from WWE, though. Vince McMahon remains on the new board, and his son-in-law Triple H is the head of WWE creative. At least one of Vince's grandchildren is already thinking about a time when they can follow in the prior three generations' footsteps too.

Another Wrestling McMahon

That grandchild is Declan McMahon, the oldest son of Shane McMahon. The 19-year-old was shown at ringside with some of his Indiana University teammates at Fastlane earlier this month, sparking talk of him potentially taking an interest in the wrestling business and maybe even stepping between the ropes one day. WU Online asked Declan about exactly that, and turns out the fifth-generation promoter has already thought about doing a little bit of pro wrestling.

"When you’ve come up in this business and seen it… I’m never ruling it out. I would love to get in the ring, maybe a couple of times. You have to see if the opportunity presents itself. It’s all about the story. But, we’ll see," Declan said (via WWF Old School). The grandson of a chairman is a confident young man, adding that he thinks he'd be a good wrestler and that he also thinks the fans would get behind him should he decide to follow in his father and grandfather's footsteps.

From Vince To Shane To Declan

There's no doubting pro wrestling - or perhaps that should be sports entertainment - is in Declan's blood. Vince traded the board room for the ring in the late '90s and proceeded to have an on-screen rivalry with Stone Cold that might well be the best in WWE history. Declan's dad Shane debuted in the ring around the same time and proceeded to do death-defying stunts to showcase his own talents, including leaping from the top of Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32.

Declan has technically already appeared for WWE, accompanying Shane to the ring for that aforementioned Hell in a Cell match with his younger brothers. While I don't know if it'll be Declan, I think it's almost a certainty that some of the McMahon grandkids will become WWE Superstars. Shane has three sons, Stephanie has three daughters, and if I were to hazard a guess right now, I'd say at least two of them will get into wrestling.
