The Best Throwback Jerseys In The NFL
There is nothing like your favorite NFL team dusting off an old jersey that has not been seen in decades and bringing back all the nostalgia that lives with the uniforms. Throwback jerseys are a hot commodity when it comes to fashion and when it comes to loyalty. Wearing a throwback jersey shows love for a team that goes beyond the current quarterback, and some just look cool.

The Atlanta Falcons have brought back the old-school on many occasions due to their current uniforms not straying too far away from them. However, there is no denying that these '90s black throwback jerseys are far better. There is something to be said about the simplicity of the jersey, and what makes it an over-the-top great jersey is the old-school Falcons' logo on the side of the jersey that is black instead of the current red. These jerseys are remembered as the jerseys worn by Deion Sanders while he dominated the NFL before they changed their jerseys and entered the Michael Vick era.

The Seattle Seahawks either have great jerseys or terrible ones. For example, when Seattle dives into their love of neon green and wears something like their green color rush jerseys, they look like they were just slimed on Nickelodeon. However, on the opposite end, the Seahawks used to have one of the best jerseys in the league. The Seattle Seahawks jerseys since their inception had an incredible blue, green, and silver combination, with the helmets being silver and having a slightly different Seahawks' logo on the top.

Any jersey that contains aqua in it is likely going to be a top-tier sports jersey. Almost every Miami Dolphins jersey is great (except for the all-orange color rush jersey), but their white throwback jerseys are some of the best of all time. What's nice about these jerseys compared to the current Dolphins' jersey is the darkness of the aqua. The aqua color is darker, allowing all the colors to pop out without the brightness being overwhelming, like the current jerseys. Block numbers are always a solid jersey choice as well, especially for a throwback feel.

Denver Broncos or South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs jerseys? Not even an iconic Adam Sandler movie can match these 1980s Broncos uniforms. These jerseys are not only one of the best throwbacks, but it is also a beloved jersey due to the seasons the Broncos had in them.

The Broncos went to three Super Bowls with these jerseys in 1986, '87, and '89, but it was not until they changed the jerseys that John Elway would lead Denver to a Super Bowl championship. Now with Russell Wilson leading the Broncos, a return to their '80s jersey is a must-see.

The Los Angeles Rams have reverted to having arguably the worst jersey in all football with the gradient yellow and white numbers, the blue jersey and sponsorship making the uniform resemble a Best Buy uniform. However, the Rams possess one of the best throwback uniforms of all time, with their classic home jerseys from 1970 to the1990s. The Rams have gone through some of the most jersey changes, but nothing was as good as the simple dark blue and mustard yellow combo, with the stripes on the shoulder pads engulfing most of the jersey. At the time, they were a major difference from the previous blue and white jerseys they used to wear. The jerseys are synonymous with Eric Dickerson, It's awful that the Rams won the Super Bowl this year in their current jerseys instead of these.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are as traditional of a franchise as there is. They don't change coaches, ownership, or jerseys often. So when the Steelers began showcasing their modern version of the old-school 1933 jersey, it came as quite a shock to many NFL fans.
The uniqueness of never changing jerseys makes this one almost a lock for this list. However, it is still a cool-looking jersey, with vertical stripes across the entire jersey, the off-white background on the numbers, and beige pants, all making it look like it came from a rugby game. It's vintage, unique, and an obvious callback to a certain era, exactly what a throwback jersey should be.

The Philadelphia Eagles might have perfected the green color scheme with the kelly green jerseys. The Eagles have a great color scheme with midnight green, silver, and black currently but the old-school light green and silver is so popular among Philadelphia fans for a reason. The jersey is synonymous with Randall Cunningham and Reggie White and was the Eagles' jersey for most of their time before 1996. Because of the one-helmet rule, the Eagles weren't able to break out the jerseys because, despite the same logo on the helmet, the differences in green were staggering. With the rule lifted, these are a must-see jersey in the 2022 season.

The creamsicle jerseys will always be a polarizing pick. There are fans on both ends of the spectrum when this jersey is mentioned, and some regard it as one of the biggest eyesores to hit an NFL field, while others see it as an iconic jersey that needs a comeback.

The latter has been gaining more traction in recent years and for good reasons. Many fans have mentioned the resemblance that Bucco Bruce (the pirate on the helmet) and Tom Brady share. Now that it has been revealed that Brady will play this season, it might be the last chance fans have to see Brady in the creamsicle.
2 Tennessee Titans - Houston Oilers (Away)

Once upon a time, the Tennessee Titans resided in the great state of Texas, where they were called the Houston Oilers. The Houston Oilers also possessed one of the best-looking uniforms in all the NFL, and also did something that not many franchises can say they have pulled off, create an away jersey that rivals their home. The Columbia blue of the Oilers' jersey stands out a bit more than the blue they have now, but what made the Oilers' jersey stand out so much as the away jersey was it's a clean look. The white jersey with the subtle tones of Columbia blue pants and red and white stripes, combined with a unique logo and the nostalgia that comes with the thought of Warren Moon Earl Campbell makes this uniform an all-time throwback.
1 Los Angeles Chargers - Powder Blue (Home)
One of the most beautiful jerseys in all of professional sports. The Los Angeles Chargers broke out the throwback powder blue jerseys on such a regular basis compared to most throwback uniforms that they have made it their standard home color now. Not only is it a callback to some of their best years, with LaDainian Tomlinson in the backfield, but the powder blue pops like no other uniform.

It seems like the jerseys may bring good luck as Tomlinson and Phillip Rivers wearing those jerseys is associated with some of the best years in Chargers history. Now with Justin Herbert, better times look to be on the horizon.
