Rumors Suggest Saudi Buyers Are Among Frontrunners To Purchase WWE

Tuesday was a busy news day for WWE. Following the announcement that Stephanie McMahon was resigning as Co-CEO of WWE and that Vince McMahon was unanimously voted in as Executive Chairman, social media was abuzz with news that there were more big developments coming. Speculation was everywhere and it didn't take more than a couple of hours before it was revealed that among the potential buyers interested in purchasing WWE was a group out of Saudi Arabia.Bryan Alvarez tweeted, "I think monster news imminent." Dave Meltzer added when asked if something big was about to break, "Feels like it." Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported, "Hey guys, one of the hot rumors is that Saudi buyers are interested in WWE": He added, "I've gained no actual information thus far to indicate this is actually happening, outside of a few vague hinting messages from people outside WWE WWE contacts claimed to not know what the hints were about." WrestlingNews then reported, "Reddit insider kermit125 who has leaked tons of stories in the past is saying that WWE has been sold. WWE has not confirmed this yet via a press release/announcement." One rumor suggested, "For what it’s worth, I’m told the Saudi deal is done and they’re taking the company private."

What Isn't Changing For WWE

Despite the rumors that persisted throughout the evening, there were a number of reports that suggested WWE was keeping most of the management team in place after the news of Stephanie's departure. Fightful Select reported that Triple H will still remain as COO and head of creative for all WWE television. The question will be, how long does this last?

The way things have changed in recent days, it feels like nothing is a certainty.
