Roman Reigns Not Scheduled To Compete At Survivor Series
Highlights
- Survivor Series ticket sales have been so high that WWE had to create a smaller stage setup to fit in more seats.
- Speculation is running rampant about CM Punk and Randy Orton potentially returning to WWE at Survivor Series.
- Roman Reigns, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, will not be wrestling at Survivor Series and his next PPV match won't be until Royal Rumble.
This year's Survivor Series will emanate from Chicago's All State Arena on November 25. One of WWE's traditional big four shows, ticket sales have been so high that WWE recently went for a smaller stage setup so they could put in more seats. The card for the PLE isn't set yet, as the focus for now is on Crown Jewel on November 4. There have already been rumors of big moments that could go down. Speculation is running rampant about CM Punk returning to WWE in his hometown, though he wouldn't say much when asked about it. There is also talk that Randy Orton might be making his long awaited return to the company after being out for so long with a devastating back injury. Then there's the Survivor Series match itself, which looks to be another WarGames event like last year, but with WWE not yet settled on whom the combatants will be.
So where does that leave Roman Reigns, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion? He is set to face LA Knight in the main event at Crown Jewel, and while WWE seemingly dropped hints that Reigns might take on the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Survivor Series, that isn't happening. Does that mean Reigns will be part of WarGames? He was last year after all, when the Bloodline, with Sami Zayn, defeated The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens.
While plans could change obviously, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns won't only not be in WarGames, but he won't be wrestling at the show at all. “Reigns is not scheduled for Survivor Series, which is notable because it’s considered a big four event. He defends at Crown Jewel and his next scheduled PPV match won’t be until Royal Rumble," Meltzer wrote.

Does Survivor Series Need Roman Reigns?
While it's a bit strange that WWE's biggest star won't be at one of their biggest shows, it's also not a surprise, as Roman Reigns barely wrestles anymore. WWE is firing on all cylinders right now, with a plethora of huge stars, so they honestly don't even need him to succeed. After Reigns beats LA Knight at Crown Jewel (sorry, there's no way the megastar wins), don't look to see much of the Tribal Chief until Royal Rumble season, and then heading to a potential rematch with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
Speaking of Cody Rhodes, Survivor Series will probably be centered around his involvement in WarGames, the match gimmick created by his father, Dusty Rhodes. Look for there to be some sort of lineup involving Rhodes and Jey Uso, with the likes of maybe LA Knight, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Sami Zayn, against The Judgment Day and the remnants of The Bloodline. However it's booked, it should be a spectacular match. Let's just hope that when it's finally over, it means the end of Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn feuding with The Judgment Day. No one needs any more Cody promos interrupted by their music.
