Roel Ramirez Stats & Scouting Report — College Baseball, MLB Draft, Prospects

While he isn't terribly physical for a high school righthander at 6-foot-1, 198 pounds, Ramirez has attracted scouts to the border town of Laredo with his athleticism and live arm. He can pitch at 88-92 mph without any effort in his delivery. His fastball could use more life, but he keeps hitters off it by mixing in a true curveball. He shows aptitude for a changeup and fiddles with a slider as well. A San Jacinto (Texas) JC recruit, Ramirez has made significant progress this spring and could go as high as the seventh or eighth round to a team that believes he's just beginning his upward climb.
