Predicting The Next 10 Wrestlers To Move From AEW To WWE

While she hasn’t yet emerged on WWE programming, former TBS Champion Jade Cargill signed with the company after her spell in AEW came to an end. She is a big loss for AEW, and she becomes the second big name after Cody Rhodes to make that jump.

With WWE continuing to grow, with more interest, viewers, money, and audience members, it is easy to imagine more wrestlers making the transition eventually. There are some particular names on AEW’s roster who one could imagine moving over to WWE next (not necessarily taking into account contract lengths).

10 Wardlow

Wardlow in AEW

Wardlow was once the most over man on AEW’s roster, but bad booking led to him dropping a significant way down the card, to the point where he needed to be taken off TV (with him still not returning). He even noted the mental toll this was taking on him during a panel at Terrificon (H/T F4WOnline).

This unhappiness and the fact that his build and style makes him feel more suited to the WWE environment makes him feel like one of the more obvious picks to leave AEW next, and in truth it might even be the best thing for him.

9 Dustin Rhodes

Dustin Rhodes has been treated with a lot of respect during his time in AEW, but with his career winding down, one last run in WWE alongside his brother Cody Rhodes wouldn’t be a shock.

If he doesn’t have to don the golden paint and if he is allowed to be himself, getting involved in some sort of storyline with Cody would no doubt be entertaining and emotional content.

8 Ethan Page

Ethan Page has a great look, he has brilliant mic skills, and is one of the wrestlers who has more of a full package than most on AEW’s roster. However, he has been painfully underutilized. He is currently a sidekick to Matt Hardy, and he feels like a forgotten part of the roster.

It is easy to imagine Page as a midcard champion in WWE, something that he likely won’t even achieve in AEW. He would likely get more time in WWE to shine given the slower pace of shows too.

7 Preston Vance

Whether it be as an unimportant part of the Dark Order or the barely used LFI, Preston Vance has hardly done much on AEW programming. He is young, has a great look, and comes from a sporting background - which all tick the boxes of what WWE loves.

Given his lack of focus in AEW, especially after what should have been a star-making heel turn, it feels like a strong possibility that he could soon leave and try his luck in WWE.

6 Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa may be growing in age, but she has now made more of a name for herself in AEW to the point where WWE may be interested. Even if she was just used as a leading member of NXT, she would be hugely valuable to WWE.

Rosa has gotten a lot of bad press in AEW with alleged backstage issues, and it feels like she would be better off leaving. Women’s wrestling overall is presented better in WWE, so she could well find more success and love there. For someone who is a former AEW Women’s World Champion, her future in the company doesn’t feel certain.

5 Powerhouse Hobbs

Powerhouse Hobbs could well be a future world champion, but not in AEW. Tony Khan has proven that he can’t fully get behind Hobbs. A wasted run as TNT Champion, constant losses in feuds, and a lack of focus has led to Hobbs often getting lost in the shuffle.

He has the look of a WWE superstar for sure, and with a crowded AEW roster, it would be easy to imagine Hobbs trying his luck elsewhere eventually. He should be far ahead of where he is currently in AEW.

4 Ricky Starks

According to insider BWE on X, WWE has interest in Ricky Starks. Starks has incredible mic skills, brilliant in-ring work, and despite his recent push in AEW, he is in contention for being among the next names to make the move.

Starks is close friends with Cody Rhodes too, which could prove to be a pull if WWE were trying to convince him to sign. There is a reason he has been given comparisons to The Rock (outside of his appearance) and that is due to a sports entertainment style of charisma.

3 Kiera Hogan

Kiera Hogan is still fairly young (at 29), has a great look, strong in-ring skills, and can play a variety of different roles. However, she has barely been used by AEW.

It won’t be long until meaningless matches on ROH aren’t enough for Hogan, who will want to find success somewhere else. WWE could well come calling for someone who has years to give and a lot of talent.

2 Andrade El Idolo

Andrade El Idolo may be having a resurgence on AEW Collision, but it still feels like he could get lost in the shuffle at any time. With his wife Charlotte Flair wrestling in WWE, it feels like a move is more of a possibility than most.

Andrade’s physique is far better than it was during his first WWE spell, and he is looking more and more like a “WWE superstar” as time goes on.

1 Malakai Black

Malakai Black supposedly wanted out of AEW not long ago, and it is easy to see why with inconsistent booking. He has the potential of a world champion but he doesn’t feel like that in AEW.

Triple H was a big fan of Black in NXT, and with him now in creative control, it is easy to imagine him bringing him back when given the chance.
