Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How To Find (& Catch) Giratina

Giratina can be found and captured in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It will appear in Cobalt Coastlands after the player has completed the main story.

Giratina, the Ghost/Dragon legendary of Sinnoh, is back in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Originally making its debut in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Giratina is another counterpart to Dialga, the Pokémon of Time, and Palkia, the Pokémon of Space. It was the game mascot of Pokémon Platinum and has been the Pokémon of Antimatter ever since. Finding and capturing this powerful Pokémon will have to wait until trainers have access to the post-game. After beating the main story, new missions, research tasks, and Pokémon will begin to populate the region of Hisui.

Since Giratina is a Ghost and Dragon-type Pokémon, it's weak to Ice, Ghost, Dark, Dragon, and Fairy-type attacks. Although, it does resist Poison, Bug, Water, Fire, Electric, and Grass moves while being completely immune to Normal and Fighting. It's also one of the legendary Pokémon with alternate forms. If trainers give it a Griseous Orb in Pokémon Platinum, it would transform from its base form to its Origin form. After the credits have concluded, trainers can start their hunt for Giratina.

To find and capture Giratina in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trainers will need to complete Mission 26: Seeking the Remaining Plates. Once that's done, speak with Professor Laventon and he will give the player Request 91: On the Trail of Giratina. Go to Cobalt Coastlands and use Braviary to fly to Spring Path, which is the same location where trainers can find Giratina in Pokémon BDSP. Use Sneasler to climb the mountain the enter the center of the spring. Upon entering the cave, the battle with Giratina will instantly begin.

Capturing Giratina in Pokémon: Legends: Arceus

Legendary Pokémon have a much lower catch rate when compared to other Pokémon, making them more difficult to capture. Lowering its HP and using status ailment moves like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis will increase the odds of it staying in the ball. Trainers can use Ice, Dark, Dragon, or Fairy-type moves to effectively weaken it, but using them too much might accidentally make it faint. While Ultra Balls will be best for capturing it, craft tons of Poké Balls before the battle to prepare. Continue to chuck Poké Balls at it until the battle is over.

After the battle is over, the player will be rewarded with the Griseous Core. This item can be used to transform Giratina from its Origin form to its Altered Form. Since this Pokémon game takes place in the past, Giratina is already in its Origin form, unlike the mainline titles. The Grisceous Core simplifies this process by allowing trainers to change its form in an instant at any moment, just equip it to Giratina to instantly transform.
