New Report Claims Sting Has Been Cleared By WWE Doctors For Match At WrestleMania

The newest rumor surrounding Sting and a potential return claims WWE doctors have cleared him, but he's not interested in competing at Super ShowDown.

The word retirement doesn't tend to mean the same thing to wrestlers as it does in other walks of life. Wrestlers only tend to stay retired if they physically can't compete anymore. However, in recent years some retired competitors have even been coming back from that. First Daniel Bryan, and now Edge. Both men were told by doctors that they would never wrestle again.

Yet here we are in 2020 and both Bryan and Edge are active WWE Superstars. That has naturally led fans to wonder who else might have one more run left in them. Competitors who were previously told it is no longer safe for them to wrestle. The one name that keeps coming up ever since Edge returned at the Royal Rumble last month is a fellow Hall of Famer's, Sting.

Sting wrestled the majority of his career in WCW, not showing up in WWE until 2014. The former WCW Champion only managed to wrestle a handful of matches before a scary moment happened during a match with Seth Rollins. Since then, Sting has been retired never to wrestle again. However, rumors are now rife claiming he is coming back for the one dream match fans thought they would never see.

Sting versus The Undertaker. We thought the chance to have that match had been and gone, multiple times, but perhaps not. According to Donald Wood from Ring Rust Radio, WWE doctors have cleared Sting to compete in the ring once again. That's despite opposing reports from others earlier this week claiming Stinger has not been cleared and will not be wrestling for WWE again.

The only caveat accompanying this latest rumor is Sting will not be returning for Super ShowDown. The temptation of a big Saudi Arabian payday has already tempted a couple of Sting's peers back between the ropes a couple of times. Should this latest rumor turn out to be true, Sting only has one match on his mind. The dream showdown with The Deadman at WrestleMania.
