Mary Carol Majerus, affectionately known as Carol, was born on May 17, 1935, in New Market, Minnesota. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Laura Wermerskirchen. Carol’s journey took a beautiful turn when she met the love of her life, Richard “Butch” Majerus, in fourth grade. Their love story blossomed, and they exchanged vows on August 13, 1955, embarking on a remarkable 62-year marriage. As devoted parents, Carol and Butch raised five daughters and one son, creating countless cherished memories during family outings in their beloved van.
Professional Life and Involvements
Throughout her life, Carol pursued various professional endeavors, leaving a lasting impact in each role she undertook. She showcased her talents in the bakery at Juba’s Grocery Store, captivating customers with her culinary skills. Later, she ventured into the real estate industry, where she became a dedicated realtor, helping individuals find their dream homes. Carol also contributed her skills as a bank teller, providing exceptional service to the community. Beyond her professional achievements, Carol was an active member of the Shakopee Quilt Club and St. Mark’s CCW. Her passion for quilting led her to lead the St. Mark’s Quilting Mission for over two decades, touching the lives of many through her creative and philanthropic efforts.

Carol experienced the heartache of losing loved ones before her passing. She mourned the loss of her beloved husband, Richard “Butch” Majerus, who held a special place in her heart. Carol also bid farewell to her parents, Joseph and Laura, her daughter Angela Brewer, her infant son Little Joe, her granddaughters Tiffany Smith and Katherine Marie Brewer-Knight, her great-granddaughter Miakoda Brewer, and her siblings Greg and Jim Wermerskirchen. Additionally, the passing of her son-in-law Tor Hylbom left a void in her life.
