Job, Starring Peter Friedman, Returns Off-Broadway in January
Max Wolf Friedlich’s play Job will return this winter for another Off-Broadway run.
The play, which centers on a stressed employee and her crisis therapist, will play the Connelly Theater in the East Village from Jan. 19 through March 3, with an opening night on Jan. 25. Peter Friedman and Sydney Lemmon will resume their lead roles after a sold-out run this fall.
Directed by Michael Herwitz, Job follows Jane (Lemmon), an employee at a big tech company who had a video of her breakdown at work go viral. She visits a crisis therapist, Loyd (Friedman), with the goal of being reinstated at her job, and the two, who approach issues from different generations and political viewpoints, discuss “what it means to be a citizen of the internet and our obligation to help the people who need it most,” according to the production, which bills itself as a psychological thriller.
