Jeff Hardy Deserves One More Main Event Push In WWE

The use of Jeff Hardy is currently perplexing to fans of his watching the WWE product. There are times when Hardy is in a relevant position, like when he scored victories over Karrion Kross or was involved in a United States Championship match on PPV. Other moments saw losses to Jinder Mahal and Jaxson Ryker in a thankless position for a legend.

The fan reaction to Hardy is always strong as one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster. WWE seems to love pushing the part-time legends, but they have someone of that stature performing full-time. The contract status of Jeff sees him on the WWE roster for quite some time. WWE must start pushing the legend or may regret wasting his final run.

Jeff Hardy Remains One Of The Most Popular WWE Wrestlers Ever

The recent performance at Extreme Rules 2021 shows just how much value Jeff Hardy has to WWE. Hardy was the biggest reason for the strong fan investment in a triple threat match for the United States Championship against Damien Priest and Sheamus. The addition of Jeff added a newfound excitement and in turn helped both other talents out moving forward.

WWE doing little with Hardy over the past few months is worse than one would realize on first thought. Sure, Hardy is nowhere near his prime, but he still delivers when given the opportunity, such as the classic ladder match vs AJ Styles and Sami Zayn just one year ago. WWE placing Hardy in 24/7 Championship segments and jobbing to Karrion Kross just wasted the star power and final last run to perform at a high level.

Jeff Hardy Is A Full-Time Legend

WWE has a tendency to push part-time veterans at the expense of full-time stars. Brock Lesnar and Goldberg running through most of the talent they face does nothing for the other wrestler once they leave. Jeff Hardy gives WWE a rare instance of someone with the legend status who is a full-time roster member.

Names like The Undertaker and Lesnar may be bigger draws, but Hardy clearly generates interest in many ways. Social media trends will often see Jeff showcased if he has a meaningful match on television and his segments do well on YouTube. The live audience most importantly connects to add that special connection that makes the nostalgia strong for someone at a legend status like Hardy.

It's Time For One Final Main Event Jeff Hardy Push

Jeff Hardy moving into a bigger role for one final main event push could be a missing ingredient to add more excitement to the television product. The style of Hardy and his desire to elevate younger stars would lead to classics against Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and many others if given the chance. WWE has a bad habit of going hot and cold with talent until fans no longer buy them as serious contenders.

Jeff Hardy WWE Champion

Hardy proved that the fans still believe in him as someone worth investing emotionally in during that triple threat vs Sheamus and Damien Priest. WWE would be tone deaf to turn down the idea of Hardy getting a bigger opportunity since a large percentage of the audience wants it. The story is too perfect to screw up if just playing into the natural fan love for Jeff.

It would not take much work for Hardy to gain enough momentum as a comeback story of a legend fighting his way back to the top. Reigns has run through opponents on the face side and badly needs some fresh challengers as Hardy moves to Smackdown in the draft. Most of the faces on both Raw and Smackdown have struggled in some way, so it’s not like Hardy would be taking away from a more deserving option. The time is now for WWE to push Jeff in a bigger role before they let this opportunity pass them by.
