Jay Briscoe's Wife Posts Update Revealing Daughters Were Also In Car Accident

The wrestling world was rocked on Tuesday night as reports that Ring of Honor's Jay Briscoe had passed away following a car accident started to circulate. Tributes for the 13-time ROH Tag Team Champion have been pouring in ever since, but it seems the awful situation for Briscoe's family is even worse than anyone could have ever imagined.

Jay Briscoe's Daughters Were In The Car

It appears Briscoe was not alone in his car at the time of the accident and may well have had his two daughters in the vehicle with him. That's the implication made by the wrestler's wife Ashley Pugh who has taken to Facebook to ask for prayers for their family as hers and Jay's daughter Gracie heads into surgery. The post also reveals their other daughter Jayleigh has sustained serious injuries.

“Gracie is on her way into surgery on her back. Jamin would want the whole world praying for his little girl,” Pugh's post reads. “Pray for Jayleigh who has some pretty serious injuries, but is stable and resting.” The post doesn't detail the nature of Gracie's surgery, nor does it need to, but Pugh implies in the post that whatever work is being done on her daughter right now is with the goal that she will be able to walk again.

A Heartbreaking Situation Made Even Worse

What was already a heartbreaking situation that centers around a wrestler being killed at the age of just 38 has been made so much worse by the reveal that not only were Briscoe's daughters with him at the time of the accident but both of them have been seriously hurt as a result of it. The thoughts of everyone here at TheSportster go out to the entire Briscoe/Pugh family right now and we hope both of the late wrestler's daughters make full recoveries.

While the wrestling side of all this is entirely unimportant right now, Briscoe was an ROH Tag Team Champion at the time of his passing. He and his brother Mark won the championships at the end of 2022, bringing the curtain down on a fantastic trilogy of matches between themselves and FTR.
