Installing the Oracle Instant Client - Documentation for BMC Database Automation 8.9

Beginning with version 8.6, BDA supports only the 11g Instant Client (11.2.04). If you are upgrading to version 8.9 and are running pre-8.6 versions of BDA where the 10g instant client is installed, you must install the 11g instant client before upgrading. Failing to do so will result in an error during the upgrade because of the installation of a deprecated version of the client.
