Unquestionably, Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest stars to grace a wrestling ring. Whilst, Hogan may have not been a technical in-ring general, he was a massive star in the '80s and '90s. There's no denying that Hogan is one of the all-time greats, but he has a reputation for being incredibly selfish by always going into business for himself, and during the dying days of WCW, he had creative control.

Despite all of the controversy surrounding Hogan, he has had a very good wrestling career. His accomplishments speak for themselves, and there's no question that he deserved the things that he has accomplished with several major honors to his name.

10 Tag Team Champion

Hulk Hogan generally featured in high-profile feuds throughout his WWE career, but Hogan briefly found himself involved in the tag team division in 2002. Hogan teamed up with Edge, who was a big Hogan fan as a youngster, and the duo defeated Billy and Chuck for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

It would have been a surreal moment for Edge to be Tag Team Champion with Hogan as he watched Hogan's match with The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 6 in Toronto. Nevertheless, it was the first time that Hogan was a Tag Team Champion but they weren't champions for long as they dropped the titles to Lance Storm and Christian at Vengeance 2002.

Hulk Hogan may have not been the best in-ring performer but that hasn't stopped Hogan from featuring in some memorable high-profile matches. The Pro Wrestling Illustrated has given Hogan the Match of the Year award four times.

Hogan got Match of the Year for the first time in 1985 at WrestleMania after teaming up with Mr. T to beat Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper. His match with Andre the Giant at the Main Event in 1988 was the second time he got the award. Hogan got Match of the Year for a third time for his WrestleMania 6 match with The Ultimate Warrior and for the fourth and final time in his epic with The Rock at WrestleMania 18.

No wrestler was a bigger star than Hulk Hogan in the '80s, and his popularity was unrivaled. There's no surprise that he was the PWI Wrestler of the Year, three times which is a testament to his greatness.

He won the award for the first time in 1987, 1991 for the second time which is a successful year for Hogan as he won the Royal Rumble match and won the WWE Championship twice. The third time Hogan was awarded the PWI Wrestler of the Year was in 1994 during his time in WCW as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

7 WrestleMania Main Eventer

Hulk Hogan was a constant presence in the main event of WrestleMania, and he featured in eight of the first nine WrestleMania main events which is a ridiculous record. Hogan was involved in the inaugural WrestleMania main event in 1985 when he teamed up with Mr.T to see off Paul Orndorff and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Hogan retained the WWE Championship in back-to-back WrestleMania main events in 1986 and 1987. Hogan clinched the WWE Championship from Randy Savage, Sgt. Slaughter, and Yokozuna at WrestleMania 5, 7, and 9 respectively. His only defeat in that run was to The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 6 and he beat Sid Justice in one of the worst WrestleMania main events at WrestleMania 8.

Hulk Hogan's dominance from the '80s continued into the early '90s where he began the decade as the WWE Champion. There were a lot of talented wrestlers in the '90s, but Hogan topped the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 500 charts in 1991 as the number one competitor.

Hogan had a stellar year in 1991 as he became the first back-to-back Royal Rumble winner, and he defeated Sgt. Slaughter for his third WWE Championship at WrestleMania 7. Hogan had continued success toward the end of 1991 as he reclaimed the WWE Championship from The Undertaker at This Tuesday in Texas.

There's no doubt that Hulk Hogan was going to be the headline act in the WWE Hall of Fame one day. The Hulkster finally entered the Hall in a star-studded cast in 2005. Hogan had a lot of star power in the '80s and he was one of the main reasons why the popularity of professional wrestling grew.

Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Sylvester Stallone over WrestleMania 21 weekend. Furthermore, 16 years later, Hogan entered the Hall of Fame for a second time with his nWo stablemates Kevin Nash, the late Scott Hall, and X-Pac who were all entering the Hall of Fame for the second time in their careers.

4 Two-Time Royal Rumble Match Winner

A plethora of wrestlers dream of winning the Royal Rumble match but before 1993, the winner of the Royal Rumble match wasn't awarded a mandatory World Championship match at WrestleMania. Nevertheless, Hulk Hogan made history by becoming the first man to win the Royal Rumble match in back-to-back years in 1990 and 1991.

Hogan was the WWE Champion when he won the Royal Rumble in 1990, and in 1991, he dumped Earthquake over the top rope to win the Rumble again. Hogan ended up competing in WWE Championship matches both years he won the Rumble which seemed like a precursor of things to come for future Rumble winners.

3 WCW Champion

It was a shock when Hulk Hogan departed WWE in 1993 and a year later, Hogan signed with WCW. Hogan was a big draw in WCW and he won his first WCW World Heavyweight Championship from Ric Flair at Bash at the Beach 1994.

Hogan made history with that victory as he became the longest-reigning WCW World Heavyweight Champion with his reign lasting 469 days. Overall, Hogan won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship six times which is a brilliant achievement but unsurprising and no man held the championship longer than Hogan cumulatively who held it for 1,177 days in total.

On January 23, 1984, Hulk Hogan won the WWE Championship for the first time by defeating The Iron Sheik. This was a huge moment as the Hulkamania era began. Hogan was unstoppable as WWE Champion and he held the title for 1,474 days.

Hogan's four-year WWE Championship reign saw him defeat King Kong Bundy at WrestleMania 2 and Andre the Giant a year later at WrestleMania 3. Hogan's WWE Championship ended controversially to Andre the Giant in February 1988, and this was Hogan's longest reign as WWE Champion.
