How to Get The Lone Wolf Ashes in Elden Ring

The Lone Wolf Ashes will allow players to summon three deadly wolves in Fromsoftware's Elden Ring that can prove to be valuable allies in battle.

FromSoftware's Elden Ring gives players the power to summon a wide variety of companions to aid them in battle by using Spirit Ashes. These companions can be extremely useful, as they serve as a distraction against enemies. They can also be very powerful allies that can be upgraded as the game progresses. Players looking to use these companions will have an opportunity to do so early in the game, as the Lone Wolf Ashes can be obtained near the very start of Elden Ring.

Spirit Ashes are special items in Elden Ring that allow players to summon various types of companions to aid them in battle. As players progress in Elden Ring, they will obtain many of these Ashes but will only be able to use them near Rebirth Monuments. Spirit Ashes can also be upgraded by finding and completing Roderika's questline. Upgrades will often increase the base stats of the companion, such as health or damage, but in some cases will also increase the number of companions summoned.

To be able to use Spirit Ashes to summon companions, players will first need to acquire the Spirit Calling Bell. This key item that players can acquire early in conjunction with the Lone Wolf Ashes allows players to summon Spirits from Ashes in Elden Ring, which will consume Focus Points upon use. These companions cannot be used during multiplayer, and players will only be able to summon them when fighting bosses or near points of interest on the world map, as it is where most Rebirth Monuments are located. Players can confirm they are in the right place to summon if they notice a "monument" icon on the left, meaning they are near a Rebirth Monument.

How to Summon a Wolf Pack in Elden Ring

Elden Ring Lone Wolf Ashes

Before players can use the Lone Wolf Ashes, they will first need to obtain the Spirit Calling Bell, which can be acquired early in the game after gaining the ability to summon the Spectral Steed, aka the horse mount in Elden Ring, from Melina. This will happen after players find three Sites of Grace, one of which can be found to the north after the game begins, by a road near the Gatefront. It is important to note that, to acquire the Spirit Calling Bell, players will need to make sure it is nighttime before proceeding; if necessary, players can use a resting site to "Pass Time" until nightfall.

After that, players must travel to the Church of Elleh in Limgrave, the building to the north of the First Step checkpoint. At the church, players must find and talk to Renna and select the "I can call the spectral steed" option, after which she will gift players with the Spirit Calling Bell and the Lone Wolf Ashes simultaneously. If this method does not work, it is possible that players are too far into the game and must instead travel to the Table of Lost Grace and buy the Spirit Calling Bell and Lone Wolf Ashes using Elden Ring's runes from the Twin Maiden Husks merchant in the upper left area of the building.
