Finn Balor Shares That His Dad Beat COVID-19, And Now He Wants Brock Lesnar

Finn Balor's dad has overcome a lot over the past 12 months. So much that he thinks he could probably take down Brock Lesnar.

As is the case with the rest of the world, the COVID-19 outbreak has greatly affected the wrestling business. Maybe in ways that we will never know about. How the virus has affected wrestlers' extended families, for example. Unless they share stories of family members falling ill, fans will never know what they had to go through during these scary and trying times.

Finn Balor has shared some news on what he has been dealing with recently. Turns out his dad, Fintan Devitt, has been suffering from COVID-19. Due to Devitt's age and the medical issues he has had recently, falling ill with the virus will have been taking more seriously than with other people.

In a post on Balor's Instagram, the former Universal Champion reveals that his dad has undergone a triple heart bypass and hip replacement in the last year alone. However, recovering from COVID-19 can now be added to that list. Balor posted a video of Devitt along with the caption that shows his dad in a hospital bed throwing up the Too Sweet gesture. Then Devitt says something that made our day.

"I wanna fight Brock Lesnar. Gonna beat the crap out of him," Devitt jokingly says to the camera. Whoever is filming, we're assuming it isn't Balor since he will be competing on NXT later this week, chuckles at the prospect. As for Devitt's wrestling son, he has stepped into the ring with The Beast Incarnate. Although Balor didn't win, he did give a very good account of himself considering the size and caliber of his opponent.

Speaking of Balor's match on NXT this week, there will be a lot on the line. He and Johnny Gargano will compete in a triple threat match for Keith Lee's North American Championship. The winner of that match will go on to face NXT Champion Adam Cole in a Winner Takes All match on July 8, 2020. By this time next month, Balor could be a double champion on the black and gold brand.
