CM Punk Insults AEW Fan For Chanting Colt Cabana On Dynamite
CM Punk was on Dynamite this week just seven days after losing a match to become the Undisputed AEW Champion. Punk cut an emotional promo and needed to be snapped out of feeling sorry for himself by his trainer, Ace Steel. Steel had stormed to the ring earlier in the night and picked up the open contract Jon Moxley left in the ring for a title match at All Out.
Don't Chant Colt Cabana At CM Punk
Steel lit a fire under Punk who then proceeded to march into the crowd and sign the contract, making the rematch between him and Moxley at All Out official. Before that happened, and before Punk had said almost anything on Dynamite, a fan off camera but close to ringside got under the skin of The Second City Saint.

Punk pointed to the fan, called him fat, and said the 16 screws he had in his foot were 16 more screws than the fan ever had in his life, or words to that effect. The somewhat scathing insult might have seemed a little out of left field to some watching the show, but there was a reason for it. If you listen closely to the clip below, you can hear what is presumably the fan Punk singled out attempting to start a Colt Cabana chant.
Cabana And Punk's Broken Friendship
Cabana and Punk's broken friendship has been dragged back into the spotlight lately following reports of unrest backstage in AEW. The two were once very close, but issues that arose from Punk's lawsuit against WWE forced a wedge between them. Cabana was rumored to be on his way out of AEW earlier this year, but apparently, backlash towards that decision from other wrestlers resulted in his contract being renewed.
The lines between work and shoot have been blurred quite a bit when it comes to what is going on backstage in AEW lately. However, the animosity between Punk and Cabana still appears to be very real, as highlighted by Punk's response to a fan chanting his name on Dynamite. Cabana is rarely seen on AEW TV anymore, but will apparently be a key part of ROH moving forward.
