Bella Twins Open To Returning To WWE As A Tag Team
Nikki and Brie Bella, also known as The Bella Twins, who were released from WWE in 2012, recently told Mario Lopez, guest host on The Ellen Show, that they would “definitely” come out of retirement to wrestle again.
The 37-year-old twins, who debuted with WWE in 2007, said they were excited about a return to wrestling after the next locations for WrestleMania 37 were announced for Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Hollywood over the next three years.
“When I heard about Dallas 2022, Hollywood 2023, I got chills,” Nikki said. “And I said, ‘Brie, we have never gone after the tag titles.’ They were made for us. There’s another run in the Bella twins. At some point we’re coming back.”

The former WWE Divas Champions have both recently given birth. Nikki welcomed Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev on July 31, 2020 with fiancée Artem Chigvintsev, while Brie welcomed Buddy Dessert Danielson on August 1, 2020 with husband Daniel Bryan.
In their conversation with Lopez, Brie recalled that after a match against Stephanie McMahon at SummerSlam 2014, they met McMahon’s children. “When we came back to gorilla, to see their faces when she came through the curtain, they were like, ‘Mom.’ The goosebumps, the tears. They just looked at their mom like she was a superhero.”
The new moms hope to have their own “superhero” moment with their kids. “I really want to be able to wrestle in front of Matteo, Buddy and Birdie and come back and them look at me the same way that Stephanie’s daughters looked at her,” Brie said.
“I mean, nothing would be better than being in the ring and just looking over at the front row and just seeing your kids in awe of you. Especially as women, like, how empowering that would be. It’d be incredible,” Nikki added.
Former Divas Champions, Nikki held the title two times and Brie once. Nikki is also the longest-reigning holder of that title. On February 21, 2020, WWE announced that both twins would be inducted into the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame class.
