Asuka And Iyo Sky's Back And Forth On Raw Is Even Better With Subtitles

This week's Raw included a lot of big moments. Mia Yim is back, the 24/7 Title is gone, and Austin Theory is no longer Mr. Money In The Bank. Unfortunately for Theory, his attempt to cash it in and become US Champion failed. All of that on one show, and the moment you have probably seen most on social media in the hours that have followed doesn't involve any of them.

Asuka And Iyo Sky

Damage CTRL's beef with Bianca Belair, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss continued this week, and their segment included The Empress and Iyo Sky going back and forth on the mic. Since both hail from Japan, the two of them decided to yell at each other in Japanese, because why not? Odds are most people watching had no idea what they were saying, which for some bizarre reason made the whole thing wildly entertaining.

The thing is, once you do know what Asuka and Sky were shouting at each other, it arguably makes the segment even better. Someone has already provided a translation via subtitles, and Public Enemies Podcast shared it on Twitter. Asuka kicks things off by calling Damage CTRL morons in her native tongue, and when Sky responds in kind, for some reason the former Tag Team Champion is incredibly surprised the retort is in Japanese.

STUPID, STUPID, STUPID

That devolves into Asuka continuing to demonstrate surprise that Sky can speak Japanese despite also being from Japan, and then The Empress saying “stupid” over and over again. Yes, that was the word Asuka was effectively chanting relentlessly towards the end of her promo, and you can now add it to the list of Japanese words you can drop into conversation.

The translated video amusingly ends with the moment Sky shouts “bitch” back at Asuka, but since she switches to English for that, the subtitles for the word are in Japanese. The segment on Raw as a whole appears to have put the pieces in place for the women's WarGames match at Survivor Series. All six women mentioned above plus Nikki Cross on Damage CTRL's side, with three more participants to be announced.
