Highlights

The November 15, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California was the go-home show for Full Gear, one of the company's biggest pay-per-views of the year. The show featured the big matches of Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta vs Hook and Orange Cassidy, Skye Blue vs Red Velvet, the Young Bucks vs Komander and Penta El Zero Miedo, and a bonkers eight-man tag main event that saw Kota Ibushi, Paul Wight, Chris Jericho, and Kenny Omega vs Brian Cage, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher and Powerhouse Hobbs. There were also great segments, such as a phenomenal promo between "Hangman" Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, and the final segment, which saw Jay White, The Gunns, and Juice Robinson take out AEW World Champion MJF. So how did all of this action, heading into such a big show this weekend, do in the ratings?

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, AEW Dynamite was watched by 823,000 viewers, up 2% from the 804,000 who watched last week. 368,000 of that came from viewers aged 18 to 49, for a P18-49 rating of 0.28. That's up 4% from the 0.27 rating for the November 8, Dynamite.

The quarter-hour ratings, released by Wrestlenomics, shows what worked and what didn't for the November 15 Dynamite. The highest ratings went to the first segment, with 966,000 people tuning in for the opening tag match of Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta vs Hook and Orange Cassidy. 124,000 tuned out going into the promo between "Hangman" Adam Page and Swerve Strickland. It dropped further, down to 808,000 total for the Toni Storm segment, and the squash match which saw Samoa Joe destroy Jon Cruz. Ratings stayed steady for the Young Bucks vs Komander and Penta El Zero Miedo, followed by another squash match which saw the Gunns take out Jacoby Wyatts and Peter Avalon. The Young Bucks match scored the highest 18-49 ratings for the night at 385,000, with the low being 350,000 for Skye Blue vs Red Velvet.

Surprisingly, the lowest overall ratings went to Dynamite's last two segments. The giant 8-man tag started at 783,000 tuning in, before dropping to 764,000. It fell even lower, to 759,00, for the closing segment between MJF and Bullet Club Gold.

While the ratings were up this week, AEW can't be happy to be stuck in the mud in the 800,000 range, especially when there once was a time when they could get over one million. It should be interesting to see if the fall-out from Full Gear will improve next week's Dynamite ratings. By then, we could have a new champion or two, we'll know who the big new signing is that Tony Khan has promised fans, and just maybe, the Devil will have finally revealed their face.
