AEW Commemorates Wardlow's TNT Title Win With New Merch

When it came to commemorating Wardlow's TNT Championship victory, AEW wasted no time. Almost immediately after he had won the title, ShopAEW.com took to Twitter to unveil the new champ's new t-shirt.

The new piece of Wardlow merch is a black t-shirt (like most AEWShop.com t-shirts, unfortunately) that features a wolf with a crosshair over one eye and lightning over the other. A grey and green font at the top of the design reads "AND NEW."

Wardlow was crowned TNT Champion following an emphatic victory over Scorpio Sky on this week's edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS. It all went down at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York on Wednesday, July 6 ...

Two-time champ Scorpio Sky put his TNT title on the line against Mr. Mayhem in the opening match, which wasn't quite a squash match, but it still came nowhere close to hitting its 30-minute limit. Sky made his way to the ring surrounded by his American Top Team allies, but the cheerleading was to no avail as Wardlow was in fine form once again.

Sky did all he could to keep Wardlow down, but when the big man kicked out of a pinfall attempt after being laid out with the TNT title belt, it was obvious which way the result was going. Wardlow got the win after demolishing Sky with a brutal Powerbomb Symphony for the 1-2-3, earning his first AEW title in the process.

Going into the match, Wardlow was 14-2 in 2022, while Sky was 9-1. As you might recall, Wardlow's big push kicked off when he turned on MJF at the appropriately-named Revolution pay-per-view by refusing to help MJF cheat in order to defeat CM Punk. Wardlow placed MJF's Dynamite Diamond Ring on the canvas, and Punk used it to finish his foe off. Subsequently, MJF and Wardlow were engaged in a bitter feud that culminated at Double Or Nothing when Wardlow squashed MJF.

Sky won the TNT Championship from Guevara on the April 27 edition of AEW Dynamite. Guevara won the championship from Sky just 11 days prior to losing it, making him a two-time champ. Guevara became TNT Champion for the first time when he ended the 141-day reign of "God's Favorite Champion" Miro in the main event of the September 29 edition of AEW Dynamite. Guevara's fist reign wasn't as long as it probably should have been, but he was a fighting champion throughout, picking up wins over the likes of Jay Lethal and Tony Nese on his journey.
