From being the greatest wrestler of all time who lived a true partying lifestyle, to the lows of his family and health problems, he has experienced everything. Because of that, and how popular he is around the world, a movie about Flair would be very interesting, and would no doubt attract some high-profile actors. But who would be good to play the Hall Of Famer, and who should be avoided?

10 Should Play Flair: Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy

While Tom Hardy is an Englishman, he is someone who has thrived in countless roles with American accents, and this would be another. Hardy is a very talented actor and is someone who has been involved in a real variety of projects.

Hardy has been involved in a real range of movies throughout his career, from blockbuster action films to smaller projects, and he is perfect at working as a specific character, especially ones from history, which is why this role would be perfect for him.

9 Shouldn't Play Him: Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth's older brother, Chris Hemsworth is set to play Hulk Hogan in the future for Netflix, but that doesn't mean that Liam Hemsworth needs to play a wrestler as well to balance it out.

The problem with Liam taking on the role is that the focus will simply be on comparing the two brothers for playing different wrestlers, which is why it would be best for Liam to avoid this role, even though he's a talented actor.

8 Should Play Flair: Zac Efron

Zac Efron

Zac Efron is a fantastic actor who is really able to inject personality and charisma into everything he does. Considering he has the right physique, and ability to be a showman with his dancing and musical background, he seems like a natural fit to play a young version of the Nature Boy.

Efron would be perfect to showcase the Nature Boy during his golden years in wrestling.

7 Shouldn't Play Him: Vince Vaughn

Vince Vaughn

Vince Vaughn is a name sometimes linked with playing Ric Flair and it is easy to see why due to his personality and incredible acting career. However, Vince Vaughn is someone who is always best served being kept in a comedic manner.

While he's done a great job with some more serious roles at other points, overall comedy is where he is best and any biopic about Ric Flair is going to have some very serious moments, which must be played right to showcase his character correctly.

6 Should Play Flair: Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark

Robert Downey Jr. is a terrific actor, and while he is always going to be best known as Iron-Man, he could be a fantastic Ric Flair. While he was great in the action moments of the Marvel character, it was as Tony Stark, without the suit that he thrived.

He did an amazing job with Tony's playboy-style personality, his massive confidence, and partying ways, and that is exactly what Ric Flair was like in his heyday. However, he could also bring the emotional aspect as well, putting his heart into the role.

5 Shouldn't Play Him: John Cena

John Cena

There have been rumors in the past of John Cena taking on the role of the Nature Boy, and while he is a great actor who is only getting better, this would be a risky casting decision.

While John would benefit from actually knowing Ric, being able to tap into that aspect of him, it would be very hard for most people to see past Cena as the wrestler, which isn't ideal for a role such as this.

4 Should Play Flair: Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey Wolf of Wall Street

Matthew McConaughey is well-known for being an incredible actor who always puts 110% into his character. He's brilliant at playing characters with big personalities, which is why he would thrive as Ric Flair.

McConaughey is also a major real-life wrestling fan, which could play into this casting as he would no doubt give even more effort into guaranteeing that it would be a perfect performance.

3 Shouldn't Play Him: Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds

There is absolutely no doubt that Ryan Reynolds is an incredible actor, and one of the greatest of his generation. However, this is the type of role that simply doesn't suit his style of acting.

While Reynolds certainly has the personality for Ric, he is another actor that relishes working in comedy, rather than in a deeply serious biopic.

2 Should Play Flair: Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper Actor

Bradley Cooper is seemingly the perfect person to play Ric Flair in a possible movie. He has the right look to take on the role and certainly has the acting ability to work both the comedic and over-the-top elements, as well as the emotional aspects of his life.

Cooper is someone who is also a major name that would bring tons of attention to the role, which is exactly what the Nature Boy deserves. On top of that, he is someone who can really look the part, which is important in any biopic type movie.

1 Shouldn't Play Him: Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is notorious for doing his own stunts within movies, which is something that would work well within wrestling. It means he would likely get into the ring and take some bumps in order to make any physical elements work.

However, Cruise is also known for taking on bigger, more blockbuster star roles for huge action movies. That's the world that he excels within, but any movie about Ric Flair wouldn't be that type of story, which is why he wouldn't work.
