4 Wrestlers Older Than Fans Think They Are (& 4 That Are Younger)
Regular fans of a pro wrestling product often end up knowing a lot about the members of the roster. Newer wrestlers, relatively green in the ring or featured lower down the card are often considered to be younger compared to the veterans on the roster. In a promotion with as bloated a roster as WWE's, it is often easy to lose track of how long a wrestler has been in the business.

The promotion has become a melting pot for homegrown talent, combined with the finest independent wrestlers in the world. In the fast-paced world of pro wrestling, fans would be surprised to learn the true ages of some of the members of the WWE roster.
8 Older: Drake Maverick (39 Years)
Drake Maverick was one of the many stars released by WWE in April 2020 as a cost-cutting measure. But unlike most of the released stars, WWE brought Maverick back and gave him an NXT contract after he failed to beat Santos Escobar for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.
Maverick first joined the promotion in 2017. He had a stint as the General Manager of 205 Live and managing the AOP, before getting involved in the 24/7 Championship scene and then moving to NXT. Maverick had an extended run in TNA before joining WWE. Despite being in WWE only for a couple of years, Maverick is a tenured 39-year-old star.
7 Younger: Sasha Banks (30 Years)
As one of the Four Horsewomen of WWE, Sasha Banks has been consistently featured as one of the biggest stars in the Women's Division. She wrestled some of the promotion's greatest matches in NXT and was instrumental in moving the Women's Evolution forward.
She's won a ton of gold and has competed in record-breaking main event matches over the course of her career. The fact that Banks is just 30-years-old makes all of her achievements all the more impressive. As the youngest of the Four Horsewomen, the sky is the limit for The Boss.
6 Older: Damian Priest (39 Years)
Damian Priest made his NXT debut in late 2018 after a three-year stint in Ring of Honor. In April of 2019, he was repackaged as the Archer of Infamy fans know today, and he spent the next several months working his way up the card.
At NXT TakeOver: XXX, Damian Priest won the vacant North American Championship in a 5-man Ladder Match. It was Priest's first championship win in the promotion. Priest has been positioned as one of WWE's brighter stars in recent months, but odds are that he won't be pushed as a main-event talent due to his age. Priest is 39-years-old, making him one of the oldest members of the WWE roster.
5 Older: Finn Balor (40 Years)
Finn Balor was in his prime when he made the move from NXT to Raw. After spending two years as the face of the gold and black brand, Balor was positioned as a top star on Raw, even becoming the inaugural Universal Champion at SummerSlam in 2016.
Balor was 35-years-old at the time, and today he is back in NXT and is 40-years-old. Balor is no longer a rising star, he is a true veteran. Balor's best days are arguably behind him, but he still has a lot to offer the promotion as a performer over the next few years.
4 Younger: Sonya Deville (28 Years)
As a member of Absolution, Sonya Deville stood out from the rest of the Women's Division, thanks to her background as an MMA fighter. Even though the group wasn't booked very well, Deville and Mandy Rose looked like they had a ton of potential.
More recently, the feud between best friends-turned-foes was one of the most exciting feuds on the blue brand, with Deville doing some of the best work of her career and in the ring. She figures to be a top heel when she returns, and will probably be one of the centerpieces of the women's division. At only 28 years of age, Deville will only improve in the years to come.
3 Older: Shayna Baszler (41 Years)
Soon after making her NXT debut, Shayna Baszler won the NXT Women's Championship and went on to be one of the most dominant champions the show had ever seen. Her run on Raw didn't get off to the greatest start, but a Women's Tag Team Championship win alongside Nia Jax should put her on the path to singles gold down the line as well.
Baszler was expected to be the biggest heel on Raw when she debuted but that hasn't really happened yet. Whenever that does happen, it won't be for very long. Shayna Baszler is 41 years old and one of the oldest active performers in the women's division. Baszler spent her best years in the Octagon, before moving to the squared circle in her mid-30s.
2 Younger: Pete Dunne (28 Years)
Pete Dunne has spent most of his run with WWE as a champion. Soon after making his debut, Dunne defeated Tyler Bate to become the 2nd-ever NXT UK Champion. He went on to hold the championship for 685 days, before losing it to WALTER in a truly phenomenal match.

It wasn't long before he won the NXT Tag Team Championships with Matt Riddle. Dunne has consistently proven himself to be an elite performer, with and without a championship. Despite being only 27-years-old, the Bruiserweight carries himself like a true in-ring veteran. Booked correctly, he can be a main event mainstay for the next decade, maybe even longer.
1 Younger: Tyler Bate (25 Years)
Tyler Bate was tipped for greatness the moment he signed with WWE, and the promotion didn't take its time pushing him to the top of NXT UK. Bate was booked to be the inaugural NXT UK Champion and consistently put on great matches with just about everyone.
Even after losing the gold to Pete Dunne, Bate was one of the show's biggest stars, consistently putting in great performances. His 40-minute marathon match against WALTER for the championship was praised by critics and fans alike and was proof that despite being only 25-years-old, Bate is already one of the most gifted stars in the promotion.
