One of the most interesting Roman Reigns feuds this year was that of the former Shield brethren, Seth "Freakin" Rollins at the Royal Rumble for the Universal Championship. Both these superstars have wrestled each other multiple times in the past and every one of their bouts was equally exciting.

In their first face-to-face segment this year, Seth and Roman were trading shots when the latter decided to make things a tad bit personal when he said, "If I wanted to main event the Royal Rumble with a megastar, I would've chosen your wife," referring to Big Time Becks, the then Raw Women's Champion. The match was exciting with Roman beating Cena to retain his title. While Cena is clearly the better talker, Roman has improved quite a lot since their unscripted clash of words in their No Mercy contract signing segment in 2017.

In a very hilarious reference, Roman mentioned how it was the same John Cena from 2005 with his same jeans shorts and the same insults and compared him in a not so cheeky way by saying, "It's like missionary position every single night." The crowd went crazy.
