10 Wrestlers You Didn’t Know Finn Balor Has Faced

Believe it or not, Finn Balor already has 20 years of in-ring experience. He has worked for several promotions, including NWA, NJPW and WWE. He has been consistent; he has won over 20 titles and has delivered many epic matches.

Obviously throughout his long career Finn Balor has faced countless wrestlers. Fans remember his matches against Kyle O'Reilly, Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Edge or AJ Styles, but he had several matches against unlikely opponents. So, without further ado, let's take a look at 10 wrestlers you didn't know Finn Balor has faced.

10 Brian Kendrick

Brian Kendrick is a very talented wrestler, but he hasn't had as successful a career as Finn Balor. They went one-on-one on the February 25, 2015, episode of NXT.

As expected, it was an entertaining match, Balor and Kendrick told an enjoyable story in 10 minutes, executing a couple of great spots. In the end, Balor was the winner of the match. It would have been awesome to see this match in a bigger stage.

9 John Cena

John Cena vs Finn Balor

Finn Balor was supposed to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021, but John Cena stole the contract for the match. This set the stage for a match between Cena and Balor in the future, but it wouldn't be the first time they have faced each other.

Many fans forget that The Prince faced The Cenation Leader in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying match during the January 29, 2018, edition of Monday Night Raw. It was a very good match, which ended with a lethal middle rope Attitude Adjustment.

8 Tomohiro Ishii

Finn Balor worked several years in Japan, so it is not surprising that he has faced against the great Tomohiro Ishii. However, many fans don't know about it and no one talks about it today.

On August 3, 2013, at G1 Climax 23, the then-known as Prince Devitt defeated Ishii. This match is a hidden gem, it was excellent, lasted 10 minutes, but was fast-paced action. For some reason, few fans know about this bout.

7 Jushin Thunder Liger

Prince Devitt and Jushin Thunder Liger faced each other several times in tag team action, but only a couple of times in singles matches. Their first encounter was in NJPW Circuit 2008 New Japan Soul - Novello Sparks.

The experienced Jushin Thunder Liger emerged victorious over the young Devitt. Five years later, on the ninth day of Best Of The Super Junior 20, Prince Devitt proved he learned his lesson and defeated Liger.

6 Tyson Kidd

Tyson Kidd was a talented wrestler, but he did not have a memorable wrestling career. In WWE he was a midcarder who spent most of his time in the tag team division, winning three tag team titles, in fact.

Eventually Kidd ran out of opportunities on the main roster, so he was sent to NXT. There he faced Finn Balor on a couple of occasions, and they showed good chemistry. Balor was the one who prevailed in both matches.

5 Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega is one of the best wrestlers of all time, but he could never beat Finn Balor, or rather Prince Devitt, in singles action. They faced each other twice. The first encounter was on September 3, 2010, at NJPW Circuit 2010 G1 Climax Special, where Devitt defeated Omega to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title.

Nearly three years later they faced each other on the 10th day of Best Of The Super Junior 20 and Devitt emerged victorious once again. Not just anyone can say they are undefeated against Kenny Omega.

4 Rhyno

Rhyno returned to WWE in 2015, being assigned to NXT. There he faced off against Finn Balor a handful of times, including a pair of singles matches. Balor was the winner on both occasions.

The matches were nothing special, but at least Rhyno understood his role and did a good job putting Balor over. Eventually both were called up to the main roster, but never faced each other again. So, it's understandable if you didn't know that Finn Balor faced Rhyno.

3 Rich Swann

Rich Swann is having a great Impact Wrestling run, he already won the Impact World Championship, the X-Division Championship and the Digital Media Championship.

But what some fans tend to forget is that he worked for WWE for a couple of years. Swann's second televised match in WWE was against Finn Balor. Swann looked good, but he was defeated in just under five minutes.

2 Rocky Romero

Rocky Romero is not a very popular wrestler in the United States, as he spent most of his career in NJPW. Although recently he had a few matches in AEW, making himself known to the fans of the company.

Finn Balor faced Rocky Romero several times, mostly in tag team matches, but they also had a couple of singles matches. Then known as Prince Devitt, won both matches, at Road To Kingdom 1st and on the fifth day of Best Of The Super Junior 20.

1 Goldust

During the September 25, 2019, episode of Monday Night Raw, Finn Balor faced off against Goldust for the first and only time.

The match was quite entertaining, in fact, it was arguably the best match of the episode, but it would have been much better if the match had lasted at least three minutes longer. Finn Balor defeated Goldust after hitting a picture-perfect Coupe de Grace.
