The match is all about violence therefore the stunts that take place inside them are supposed to enhance that. Even though this stipulation has been around for a long time now wrestlers are still managing to come up with new ideas, whether it's using weapons or just the cell itself and that is why the match continues to wow people.

10 Dropping From The Top (Inside)

Jeff Hardy hanging in HIAC Cropped

Jeff Hardy stepping inside the Hell in a Cell structure was always going to create at least one crazy stunt and he didn't disappoint in this one. He set Randy Orton on a table and scaled a ladder, which people thought was going to create an ordinary bump, but Hardy took it to the next level.

He pulled himself up to the top of the steel structure and then swung himself before dropping down. While Orton got out of the way and Hardy crashed and burned, the spot itself was still a creative one.

9 Trapped In

Xavier grabs kendo stick

Kendo sticks have become a frequently used weapon in modern Hell in a Cell matches, but Xavier Woods took it to a different level when New Day faced The Usos. He smartly used the kendo sticks to trap Jey Uso in the corner, imprisoning him and rendering him defenseless.

This allowed Woods to attack him with another kendo stick in what proved to be a truly brutal spot. It was a clever way to combine weapons with the steel structure itself which led to a great moment.

8 Kendo Stick Table

Bianca Belair slams Bayley through kendo sticks

Another great moment involving kendo sticks took place when Bayley and Bianca Belair stepped inside Hell in a Cell, with the EST of WWE creating a unique table. She bridged several kendo sticks between the ring apron and the steel, once again using the environment, and then proceeded to slam Bayley through it.

Not only did she get the major bump onto the outside of the ring, but it also saw her crashing through the kendo sticks to land on them, adding to the pain.

7 Powerbomb Through The Tables

Seth Rollins powerbombs Kevin Owens through a table

Wrestlers being power bombed through tables is something that happens regularly and in plenty of matches, but with the Hell in a Cell structure there was the chance to create something unique. That's an opportunity Seth Rollins took when he sent Kevin Owens crashing through two tables.

This spot had the usual table on the outside, but it also had one leaning from the ring apron to the steel structure. This meant Owens would be power bombed through that and then fall directly down through another, adding to the impact.

6 Speared Through The Cell

Edge spears Undertaker through the Hell In A Cell structure

Another great spot that has taken place in this stipulation was when Edge Speared The Undertaker from the structure. This is a finishing move that everyone knows and loves, so to be able to take it to a new level was a credit to both men as they used the environment around them.

Edge ran and leaped off the steel stairs to add height and impact, crashing into Undertaker who was near the cell itself. This led to the steel breaking as they flung back and broke the structure to create an amazing spot.

5 Roman Spears Wyatt Through A Table

Roman Reigns spears Bray Wyatt

Another great Spear spot from Hell in a Cell history came when Roman Reigns competed against Bray Wyatt. The two of them were brawling on the ring apron when Reigns got the best of the exchange, running to nail a Spear that sent Wyatt flying to the floor where a table was waiting.

Seeing the two of them crash through the table was a crazy situation and that bump was one that people loved. It got a huge reaction and was something different from what people had seen at the time.

4 Take A Seat

Becky Lynch dropkicks Sasha Banks inside HIAC

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks had a brilliant Hell in a Cell match and it was an encounter filled with clever and creative spots. The two of them worked hard to make the encounter memorable, and one of the best saw Lynch use weapons and the structure perfectly.

She set kendo sticks in the corner and placed Banks onto a chair on top of them as she then ran from the ring apron and dropkicked Banks. It was a crazy spot and one that looked fantastic, getting a great response from the crowd.

3 Backdropped Through The Roof

Cactus Jack through the roof of the HIAC

Mick Foley truly set a standard for himself with his debut in the Hell in a Cell, so when he competed against Triple H there were certain expectations that fans had. That's something the Hardcore Legend was more than capable of living up to though as he took a wild bump from the roof once again.

This was a very creative spot as Triple H backdropped him through the cell roof which led to him falling down to the mat which then imploded. It was more controlled than his previous bumps which was a good thing, but it was still creative and brutal at the same time.

2 Jumping From The Roof

Shane McMahon WrestleMania Hell in a Cell

This wild spot has been reserved for Shane McMahon's love of extreme bumps over the years as he is seemingly the only person crazy enough to want to do this. However, seeing him scale to the top of the Hell in a Cell to then voluntarily jump off is certainly a creative risk to take.

Considering that it barely ever happens there's no doubt that this is creative, because it takes so much courage to do it. It's a wild spot that highlights the desperation to win a match and proves what a brutal encounter it can be.

1 Thrown Off The Roof

Undertaker v Mankind King of the Ring 1998 Cropped

Ultimately the most creative spot in the history of the Hell in a Cell match took place early on in the stipulations history as The Undertaker threw Mankind off the roof. This is the most talked about stunt that the match ever produced, and no matter how many people jump from the top it will never be beaten.

The creative going through this is quite frankly insane considering the high risk that was put into it. Mankind truly put his life on the line with this idea, and being launched from the top to the floor was something that truly stunned fans, showcasing that it worked.
