10 Current WWE Wrestlers Who Used A Different Name In TNA
TNA has suffered ups and downs throughout the years, but the one thing the company has always done is provide great talents. Many of those have ended up appearing in WWE and because Vince McMahon likes to own everything, it has often led to wrestlers changing their names.

While the likes of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe kept their names due to how well-known they were, that hasn't been the case for everyone. There have been plenty of former TNA stars who have undergone massive changes during their transition into TNA, which has included alterations to their names, with WWE switching things up.
10 LA Knight
At this point in his career, LA Knight is a veteran of the professional wrestling industry. He was part of WWE in the past but he then moved on and joined TNA. During that time, he worked under the name of Eli Drake, which a lot of fans know him as still.
He used this name in a variety of places, including the NWA, which is another company that he thrived in. However, with the character that he is portraying right now in WWE, the LA Knight name does suit him best.
9 Cameron Grimes
Cameron Grimes is another NXT 2.0 wrestler that used to be part of TNA. He has quickly become one of the most entertaining parts of WWE's third brand, going from a top heel to a beloved babyface, which showcases his range.

However, during his time with TNA, he worked under the name of Trevor Lee. His personality was often quite unhinged and his in-ring style was very aggressive which is something that he has continued in WWE, and it suits him well.
8 Dexter Lumis
Dexter Lumis was never a massive star in TNA, with his real rise to the top of the wrestling industry taking place when he joined WWE. Whether he is a silent stalker or a comedic character, Lumis has always been able to connect with a crowd.
However, Lumis did work with TNA for a while and he competed under the name of Samuel Shaw. It's a name that doesn't quite have the same ring to it as his current one, which is why WWE was right to tweak it.
7 Joaquin Wilde
In NXT, Joaquin Wilde is a member of Legado Del Fantasma. The faction that is run by Santos Escobar is one of the most exciting groups in the business right now, but he has undergone some major changes to fit into that group.
In TNA, Wilde was known as DJ Z, and his character was completely different. Often being a top babyface due to his high-flying style, Wilde was very different. However, his work in TNA is something that caught the eye of WWE, which led to him being hired.
6 MSK
MSK is compromised of Wes Lee and Nash Carter, and they're an exciting tag team in NXT 2.0. However, they were originally a trio, as Trey Miguel ended up staying with TNA rather than moving with them. When they were part of that company, the trio was known as The Rascalz.

This is arguably a better name and it suited the way that they behaved, being loveable but cheeky at times. The trio got over with their great personalities and their excellent in-ring work, which has continued since joining WWE.
5 Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy is one of the biggest names in the history of the wrestling business, and it's instantly recognizable. For huge chunks of his TNA career, he did work under the same name that most fans know him for.
However, that wasn't always the case. He got the chance to work as different characters in TNA that the WWE Universe hasn't seen. One of those was Brother Nero, which was during the Broken Universe storyline, while the other was his alter-ego, Willow.
4 Robert Stone
Robert Stone has mainly been used in a managerial position during his time within WWE, but he has been a professional wrestler throughout his career. That was clear during his time in TNA, where he worked primarily as an in-ring talent.
During this time, his name was Robbie E, showing that WWE didn't make too many changes to his name upon his arrival. WWE made a slight tweak for the name, but he didn't keep his old TNA gimmick which resembled a Jersey Shore cast member.
3 Xavier Woods
Xavier Woods has become an iconic star in the wrestling business due to his WWE career. As a member of The New Day, he is somebody that fans will not forget and everybody will always associate him with that name. However, he did start in TNA, where he worked as Consequences Creed.
His TNA character was very patriotic and that led to the name working perfectly for him. It is a strong name overall and most fans who watched TNA during that period of time are unlikely to ever forget him.
2 Zelina Vega
Right now, Zelina Vega is working as Queen Zelina, showcasing a new side of herself. During the majority of her WWE career, she has been a manager, and it is only recently that her in-ring skills have been tapped into by the company.

However, in-ring action was a huge part of her TNA run as she wrestled a lot for the company. She worked under the name of Rosita, often teaming with Sarita as one of the top tag teams within the Knockouts division.
1 R-Truth
R-Truth has worked under his current WWE gimmick for such a long time that the majority of wrestling fans only know him like that. However, some of his best years took place in TNA, where he was one of the main event stars during the early years of the company.
During this period of time, he worked under the name of Ron "The Truth" Killings. This was one of the strongest periods of his career, but because it was so early in TNA's history, a lot of fans tend to forget about it.
