The wrestlers have confessed to some heinous kayfabe crimes over the years, which increased the value of the storylines with the fans to a great extent and also led to significant title changes. With that said, let's take a look at ten of the craziest confessions made in pro wrestling across WWE and AEW history.
10 I Did It For The Rock
WWE announced a triple-threat match between Triple H, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin for The Game's WWE Championship at the 1999 Survivor Series PPV. However, Austin got taken out of the match after someone ran him down with a car. Following his return at Unforgiven 2000, Raw Commissioner Mick Foley led an investigation to find out who ran down Austin at Survivor Series.
Foley revealed Rikishi as the mystery assailant, and The Samoan legend confessed to the crime and stated that he did it for The Rock, which eventually led to a feud between Austin and Rikishi, which then pivoted to Triple H, who was revealed to be the mastermind behind the attack.
9 Kane Is Alive
Following The Undertaker's WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 13, The Deadman's former manager Paul Bearer, who had betrayed him the year before, tried to reunite with him. The Deadman didn't give into Bearer's antics and refused to work with him again.
It led to Bearer revealing the shocking story of The Undertaker intentionally setting fire to his parents' family funeral home where they raised him and his younger brother. While The Undertaker denied these claims, Bearer confessed that he had proof and revealed that his brother Kane was still alive and had been waiting to exact vengeance on his brother.
8 The Undertaker Confesses To The Heinous Act
The Undertaker continued to deny Paul Bearer's claims that he had intentionally set fire to his parent's funeral home. The Deadman remained steady in his defense throughout his feud with his half-brother Kane, but the truth wouldn't stay in the dark for long as The Undertaker finally confessed to the crime in 1998.

The Deadman accepted to doing the deed in the fall of 1998 and stated that he always knew that Kane was weaker and worthless and confessed that he did set fire to the funeral home, which killed their mother and The Undertaker's father.
7 Kurt Angle's Long Lost Son
WWE had already played out an illegitimate son storyline with Vince McMahon and Hornswoggle back in 2007, and the company chose to revive the concept with Kurt Angle in 2017. Angle was the Raw General Manager at the time, and he confessed that he had a son with a woman he dated in college. He went on to reveal that his long-lost son had found his way into WWE and established himself as a star on SmackDown.
He proceeded to introduce American Alpha's Jason Jordan as his long-lost son, and WWE played out the storyline for a while until Jordan suffered a career-ending injury in 2018.
6 Marty Jannetty Confesses To Homicide
Former WWE Superstar and Tag Team Champion Marty Jannetty, who is well-known for being Shawn Michaels' partner in The Rockers tag team, sent shock waves across the pro wrestling fraternity when he seemingly admitted to a homicide in 2020.
He made a Facebook post on August 2020 claiming that he once made a man "disappear" when he was 13. It sparked heavy rumors that Jannetty had confessed to actual homicide, and the police in Columbus, Georgia, also stated that they would investigate the post. However, Jannetty cleared the air that the post was meant as a build-up to a wrestling storyline.
5 WCW's New Owner
After taking serious competition from WCW during the infamous Monday Night Wars, Vince McMahon hit the final blow in 2001 and purchased his competitor.
He announced the acquisition live on the final episode of WCW Nitro on March 26, 2001. Monday Night Raw was also live at the same time, and when McMahon stated the contract would be signed at WrestleMania to make the purchase official, the Titantron showed Shane McMahon walking into the WCW Nitro arena and revealing that the contract has already been signed, and he was the new owner of WCW.
4 Mrs. Helmsley
Stephanie McMahon and Test started a romantic storyline in 1999 which eventually led to an on-screen wedding segment on the November 29, 1999, episode of Raw.

The wedding was going on as per plan until Triple H walked out to the stage and dropped a bombshell confession. He went on to show a video of him taking a drugged Stephanie McMahon to a drive-through wedding chapel in Las Vegas and marrying her while she was unconscious. The revelation left those in the ring speechless, with Stephanie McMahon and Test bursting out in tears. It was later revealed to be a ruse, as Stephanie wanted to get back at Vince for having her abducted as the Higher Power.
3 The Higher Power
The Undertaker merged his Ministry of Darkness faction with Shane McMahon's The Corporation in April 1999 to form The Corporate Ministry. The unified group looked to battle against common adversaries in Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Vince McMahon.
However, The Undertaker claimed that he was doing the bidding of a Higher Power who revealed himself wearing a black robe and a hood hiding his face. However, to everyone's surprise, Vince McMahon confessed that he was the Higher Power and that the whole thing was a ruse to get revenge on Stone Cold Steve Austin.
2 I'm Your Papi
Rey Mysterio's partnership with Eddie Guerrero hit rock bottom after he defeated the latter in a one-on-one match at WrestleMania 21. It led to an eventual heel turn for Eddie Guerrero, and the feud became personal when Guerrero brought Mysterio's family into the mix.
He threatened Mysterio that he would reveal a secret about his son Dominik, which led to a match between them at the 2005 Great American Bash. Mysterio won that bout, and as per the stipulation, Guerrero wasn't supposed to reveal that secret. But Latino Heat confessed anyway, saying that he was Dominik's real father.
1 MJF's Confession
The current reigning AEW World Champion, MJF, is one of the best mic-workers of all time. He spews venom every time he takes hold of the microphone, and he seemingly confessed to a felony during a promo segment on the February 8, 2023, episode of Dynamite.
During the promo, MJF recalled his high school days when he got into a high-speed car crash while driving his Camaro with his girlfriend. He revealed that he pulled her unconscious body into the driver's seat after the crash to safeguard himself from any consequences and to keep his driver's license. The revelation led to several AEW fans legitimately reporting it to the cops, and while the latter released a statement that they would launch an investigation, they also believed that it was only a work of fiction for a television show.
