In The Claim, Bentley plays Donald Dalglish, a railroad surveyor sent to California to determine the best railway route through the state in 1867. On his journey, he comes across Kingdom Come, a small mountain town founded by the corrupt and wealthy Daniel Dillon (Peter Mullan).
The movie never saw a wide release but did receive a 3.5/4 star review from the legendary critic Roger Ebert, who said, "The strength of 'The Claim' is that Dillon and Dalglish are on intersecting paths; Dillon is getting better, while Dalglish started out good and is headed down."
9 The Four Feathers - 6.5
The Four Feathers follows Harry (Heath Ledger), a young British soldier accused of cowardice after resigning from the Gordon Relief Expedition for ethical reasons. However, he eventually journeys to Sudan when he learns that his best friend, Jack (Wes Bentley), and his former regiment have come under attack.
The rest of the cast includes Michael Sheen, Kate Hudson, and Djimon Honsou, one of the best character actors of all time. The movie is based on the 1902 book of the same name by A.E.W. Mason.
8 Pete’s Dragon - 6.7
A remake of the 1977 film of the same name, Pete's Dragon finds Pete Healey (Oakes Fegley) and his dragon, Elliot, stumbling into lumberjack Jack Magary (Wes Bentley) and his family in the Pacific Northwest. When Jack's brother, Gavin (Karl Urban), forms a hunting party to find Elliot, Pete must find a way to protect him.
The David Lowery-directed movie was well-received by critics and includes a cast of Bryce Dallas Howard, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., and Robert Redford amongst others.
7 The Hunger Games - 7.2
Based on the best-selling novel, The Hunger Games follows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who volunteers as a "tribute" to take the place of her sister Primrose (Willow Shields) for an arena-style fight to the death. Bentley plays Seneca Crane, the Head Gamemaker and architect for the titular festivities.
The movie's cast is expansive, including Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, and Donald Sutherland in the ensemble. Bentley would not go on to appear in the sequels, but his character is referenced in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

In The Best of Enemies, Bentley plays Floyd Kelly, a KKK member associated with local Klan leader C.P. Ellis (Sam Rockwell), who opposes Ann Atwater's (Taraji P. Henson) proposal to desegregate the local schools in Durham, North Carolina.

Bentley plays Jamie Dutton, the second oldest child of John and his late wife Evelyn (Gretchen Mol). An attorney and aspiring politician, Jamie's often frustrated at the family's seemingly unmotivated prejudice against him. Yellowstone also stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, and Cole Hauser.
