However, the man behind the mask, Glenn Jacobs, has nothing in common with his on-screen character. Kane's fellow WWE superstars have mentioned on countless occasions that he is one of the nicest guys in the locker room, and that is not what the fans would've thought about the Devil's Favorite Demon. With that said, let's look at ten unheard backstage stories about the Big Red Monster.
10 Took The Hardy Boyz To The Wrestler's Court
The fans might've heard about the infamous wrestler's court that takes place behind the curtains in WWE. The Undertaker usually takes the role of the judge and tries to help the wrestlers settle their disputes.
The Hardy Boyz found themselves in the wrestler's court after they stole Kane's first-class seat on a plane. Hardy Boys' manager Michael Hayes insisted they sit on the first-class during a plane ride back home, and the brothers ended up taking Kane's spot leaving the veteran to sit in coach.
The news reached the other superstars, and they took the Hardy Boyz to wrestlers court the next week on Raw. The brothers got off easy and had to buy Kane dinner for their mistake, and as for their manager Hayes, he had to carry the Big Red Monster's bags for a week.
9 Got Pranked By Fellow Superstars
Those who had followed Kane's career throughout the years would realize that he is the last person anyone should try to prank. But a few superstars decided to try their luck when they stopped for breakfast along with Kane on a diner.
Kane had to use the bathroom and gave his order to the other superstars in case a waitress came by while he was gone. But instead of ordering the normal breakfast, they ordered the nastiest food on the menu.
However, when Kane got back from the bathroom, he saw what was on his plate and quietly finished up the food without sending it back.
8 Likes To Play Ball With Tommy Dreamer
The backstage scenes in WWE can get very interesting on some occasions as Hornswoggle revealed Kane's favorite game on Chris Jericho's Talk is Jericho podcast.
The superstars would play a game called Tommy Ball backstage by having the hardcore legend Tommy Dreamer stand in front of a wall with the other superstars throwing tennis balls at his family jewels.
Hornswoggle revealed that Kane was very good at the game and would hit the target on most occasions. The only thing that's common between Kane and Glenn Jacobs is the interest to destroy another man's family jewels.
7 Is A Video Game Nerd
It’s hard to imagine the Big Red Monster holding a joystick in his giant hands and play video games without any fuss. What we learned from Kane’s Co-workers is that he’s a video game nerd and would often take to himself and play with handheld devices PSP or Gameboy during his initial days.

They also added that Kane would encourage the other superstars to buy a PSP or Gameboy so he would have someone as a playmate. We can already imagine Kane playing video games along with Xavier Woods on his YouTube channel UpUpDownDown.
6 Was Happy To Accept Any Character During His Early Stages
Before he debuted as Kane, Glenn Jacobs had two short-lived stints in WWE as Dr. Isaac Yankem DDS & Fake Diesel. The Undertaker once talked about his initial reaction to Kane and how he disliked him being too nice.
The Undertaker revealed that he wanted Glenn to stand up for himself and not take anything that was thrown his way. It took Kane some time to realize it was his last chance before he re-debuted as the Big Red Monster. Now Kane has reached legendary status in pro-wrestling and is passing on his lessons to the next generation of superstars.
5 Was Tormented By Christian Backstage
Christian and Kane never saw eye-to-eye as there was a constant rivalry between them in the tag team division. But little did we know that Captain Charisma gave Kane a hard time backstage by playing small pranks on the 7-footer.
Kane sat with Edge and Christian for an interview on their podcast and had a fun conversation about how Christian tormented him backstage a few years ago.
Kane recalled the time when Christian punched him in the stomach and the time when he poured water on his face while the Big Red Monster was taking a small nap in his locker room.
4 Kane Wasn't WWE's First Choice For His Name
It’s hard to imagine how the Big Red Monster character would’ve turned out if WWE gave Glenn Jacobs a different name than Kane. That was the case when WWE was gearing up for Kane’s big debut, and they pitched “Inferno” to be the name for the character.

It was Bruce Prichard who jinxed the pitch and insisted the name should be Kane. Since the Undertaker was once called “Kane The Undertaker” during his initial days with WWE, Prichard saw it made more sense for the Big Red Monster to debut with the name Kane.
3 His Only Regret About His Unmasking
The fans have mixed reactions to Kane’s infamous unmasking in 2003, as some said it destroyed the magic behind the character, while others said it made him look more intimidating. But despite not knowing how the fans would react, WWE went ahead with their plan and unmasked Kane on the June 23, 2003 episode of Raw.
Kane talked about how Bruce Prichard came up with the idea of partially shaving his head. While the stylist was halfway through the haircut, Prichard stopped him as they needed to show Vince McMahon.
Kane was in the heat of the moment and was looking forward to the big moment before he realized that he had to pick up his kids from school with his head shaved half bald.
2 The Undertaker Always Had His back
WWE introduced Kane as the Undertaker's half-brother when he made his debut in 1997. The two superstars went on to feud with each other and also formed the iconic tag team "The Brothers of Destruction."
But despite their on-screen storylines, the Undertaker always cared for Kane and been there for him on many occasions. Kane revealed during the Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin about how the Undertaker would talk to Vince McMahon about Kane's storylines when he had nothing to do with it.
He also revealed that it was the Undertaker who talked him out of quitting from WWE and helped him in his personal life as well.
1 Refused To End The Streak
The fans are still upset about Brock Lesnar ending the Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30, but little did they know that the streak could've ended ten years before at WrestleMania 20.
The Undertaker reverted to his deadman character on the build-up towards his match with Kane at WrestleMania 20. Vince McMahon had reportedly offered Kane the opportunity to end the Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak at the event.
However, the Big Red Monster refused to end the streak out of respect for his kayfabe brother and put the Undertaker over at the event.
