WWE Trademark Filing May Have Revealed What Jade Cargill's New Name Will Be
Jade Cargill has left AEW and is on her way to WWE. In fact, the former TBS Champion may have already joined WWE as there were suggestions earlier this week that she has already arrived in Florida ahead of paying a visit to the PC. A lot about Cargill's imminent WWE run remains uncertain, though. What brand she will be on, when exactly WWE will choose to debut her, and something you might not have considered, what she is going to be called.
Jade Cargill's Name Change
Jade Cargill isn't only the name Cargill wrestled under in AEW, it's also her actual name. Not only will WWE probably not want her to wrestle under the same name as she did in AEW, but it will also want to be able to trademark and own the rights to Cargill's name. Some fans think WWE may have actually filed a trademark for Cargill's new ring name already after the company made a number of filings earlier this week.

Among those filings was one for the name Jaida Parker. Pretty different from the name Jade Cargill, but close enough that it has some fans convinced it will be the name under which Cargill competes whenever she debuts in WWE. Another theory is that the name has been filed for a repackaged Cora Jade on the main roster. Although WWE does tweak names when NXT stars are called up on occasion, I'd be surprised if it changed Jade's that much when she is already established in the promotion.
Who Is Jaida Parker?
There's still an outside chance that whether the Parker trademark has been filed for Cargill or not, the former AEW star gets to keep her name. That seems unlikely in this instance, though. Wrestlers who get to keep their names when signing for WWE are ones who have really made names for themselves elsewhere over an extended period. AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are two examples that immediately spring to mind.
Although Cargill was a big deal in AEW, not only was that the only place she wrestled, but she has only been in the business for a little less than three years. If someone like Finn Balor doesn't get to keep his non-WWE name, then I can't imagine Cargill will. Fans often bemoan name changes in WWE and likely will again if Cargill befalls the same fate. However, we usually get used to them eventually. Remember how upset everyone was about Walter? Now it's hard to imagine him not being called Gunther.
