WWE Reportedly Has A New World Championship Ready To Debut

It's finally WrestleMania week and seven days from now, the biggest weekend on the WWE calendar will be done and dusted for another year. Well, sort of. The Raw after WrestleMania will be hours away, and the SmackDown after WrestleMania has also become a pretty big deal in recent years. It appears more and more likely one of the shows might well be where we see the company debut a new World Championship.

A New World Title Ready To Debut

According to WrestleVotes (via GiveMeSport), WWE has a new World Title belt made and ready to go, reporting the new championship could debut at any moment. That said, with WrestleMania now just five days away, and Roman Reigns defending both the WWE and Universal Titles to close day two of the show, it seems unlikely we will get to see it before the Undisputed Championship is defended on Sunday.

The other finer details surrounding what exactly WWE has planned for the new title, and in turn the ones it will presumably replace, are unknown. It's unclear whether the belts Reigns currently has will simply disappear, and also whether the new championship will have a new name. All that's known is it has been approved, and right now the most likely place it'll show up is either at WrestleMania or right after, especially if Rhodes wins.

Rhodes' Winged Eagle Hopes

There's also a very strong chance the new title's design has been inspired by WWE's iconic Winged Eagle belt if Rhodes does win. The American Nightmare has openly spoken about his desire to bring back that title should he ever become WWE Champion. Not only because it is widely regarded to be the best WWE Title design in the company's history, but it's the one his father would have won had he been World Champion in WWE.

Reports that a new title is ready to debut also come the week after Triple H was rumored to have discussed scrapping the Universal Championship. The Game is reportedly not a fan of WWE's newer World Title and may well use WrestleMania as an excuse to retire the belt. Suffice to say, evidence continues to stack up suggesting the titles will finally be either separated or properly united whether Reigns retains or not, something many fans have been hoping to see for months.
