WWE Moves Sasha Banks To Its Alumni Page, Still Believes She'll Be Back Soon
Sasha Banks brought an end to all the speculation about her wrestling future this week by making her debut for NJPW. Now known as Mercedes Mone, The Boss confronted IWGP Women's Champion Kairi and dropped her with an unpolished version of what will presumably be her new finisher. The pair will clash for the title in Mone's first NJPW match next month at Battle in the Valley.
Officially A WWE Alumna
Since Karl Anderson appeared at Wrestle Kingdom while under contract with WWE, some fans continue to wonder whether Mone is still attached to the company. Well, if the name change hadn't convinced you, then perhaps the move of the former Raw Women's Champion's profile to the alumni section on WWE.com will change your mind.

Yes, WWE has quietly made the switch which usually suggests a Superstar has officially left the company. Banks' profile remained in the active Superstar section throughout the entire saga in 2022, only shifting to the alumni section once she showed up in NJPW. It's also worth noting that even though Naomi was seemingly in Japan for Mone's debut, and has been absent from WWE since she walked out alongside Banks, her profile remains in the active section on the site.
WWE Still Believes She'll Be Back
Despite officially being a WWE alumna, and rumors swirling that she will also make appearances in AEW, her former employers apparently remain convinced Mone will return to her role as Sasha Banks at some point in the future. That's according to Dave Meltzer who noted on Wrestling Observer Radio this week that WWE is under the impression Mone will not become All Elite.
That may result in an awkward situation for AEW next week when Saraya wrestles with a mystery partner. The unretired wrestler revealed this week that her mystery partner will be Toni Storm, potentially an attempt to stop people from thinking it'll be Mone. That won't have stopped fans from thinking there will be a twist on Dynamite next week in which Storm gets attacked and Mone makes the save, though.
