WWE Hall Of Famer Sunny Labeled "Danger To Society" In Manslaughter Trial
Life after wrestling isn't always sunshine and rainbows for the industry's performers. That's why there have already been four seasons of Dark Side of the Ring with more to come. Tammy Sytch, formerly WWE's Sunny, has had one of the more upsetting downfalls. Arguably the performer who kickstarted the Divas era in WWE, Sytch has been in and out of jail in recent years and is now facing some very serious charges that could see her go to prison for up to 25 years.
"Danger To Society"
Sytch was arrested last year after being involved in a car accident that led to the death of a 75-year-old man. Sytch has had nine charges brought against her, the most serious of which being a charge of DUI manslaughter, and one count of causing death while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license. Sytch previously pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter but has been labeled a "danger to society" in the case as it inches closer to its conclusion.

In a sentencing memorandum filed on September 26, 2023, and shared by PWInsider this week, Florida state attorney RJ Larizza made the declaration, recounting what happened between Sytch and the victim. "Tamara Lynn Sytch is a danger to society as shown based on her past record and current offense. On March 25, 2022, at 8:21 pm the Defendant crashed into the vehicle of the victim, Julian Fran Lasseter, resulting in his death," the memorandum reads.
Up To 25 Years
Sytch will be sentenced on November 27, 2023, and this recent filing doesn't paint a very promising picture for her future. Nor does her recent past, as highlighted in the memorandum, all of which can be read at PWInsider. That includes a period between 2012 and 2013 during which the former WWE Superstar was arrested five times, serving 114 days in prison during that time. Sytch has been in jail since May of 2022 after having her bail revoked.
Seeing what has happened to Sytch over the course of the last decade has been hard as a fan who watched what she did in WWE during her heyday, opening the door for stars like Sable, Trish Stratus, and Lita. It was only a year before things started to go downhill that Sytch was deservedly inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. I hope there's a way back for her, and that the way back doesn't include spending two decades in jail, but this isn't the first time I've found myself hoping this will be the time Sytch turns things around.
