WWE's Best Faction That Nobody Talks About
WWE has had some incredible factions over the years, many of which are talked about regularly, but strangely, The Straight Edge Society led by CM Punk is never one of those.

The Straight Edge Society Was A Unique Group
A lot of wrestling factions are put together without much thought process, with WWE often just wanting to lump several talents together for the sake of a storyline or to give them something to do, such as the League Of Nations.
Even those factions who can make a true impact are often very similar. The aim is normally to cause as much carnage as possible, beating down on people as they look to dominate everybody in their sight, but that is where The Straight Edge Society differs.
This faction was actually about helping people, and building others up. Even though they were heels, which was due to CM Punk's controlling nature via his promos, the storylines were smartly put together for them to be easy to sympathize with at times.

Punk was able to find people with problems and make them better, which instantly connected them in a realistic manner. Luke Gallows was transformed with this faction, as was Joey Mercury and that was something fresh.
From helping different fans in the audience, the entire gimmick was unique, with something like this having never been seen before. It created something fresh and anytime a faction can do that it deserves to be talked about, which is why it is surprising they're not brought up as often.
CM Punk Finally Showed His Promo Skills In WWE Here
While the group brought together a lot of great wrestlers, the focal point was always CM Punk. Whenever a faction is created, the end goal is typically to create a top-tier star, which all the greatest stables in wrestling history have been able to achieve.
Whether it be Randy Orton and Batista from Evolution, Bray Wyatt in the Wyatt Family, or all three members of The Shield, many of the top groups are always able to create major singles stars. That was also the case within The Straight Edge Society, which is why the group should be discussed more.
CM Punk is one of the biggest names in wrestling history, and this was a huge part of getting him to that level. While he was already an established star by this point, being the leader of a faction like this allowed Punk to wax lyrical and prove his skills on the microphone.
The Straight Edge Society Are Never Mentioned By WWE
Even though The Straight Edge Society had everything that most people look for in a faction, including one of the most popular wrestlers of all time, they're not a group that fans talk about much. There's a lot of incredible factions in wrestling history, and this group certainly deserves to be in the conversation.
Everything about the faction worked, from building brand new characters to rescuing others. They had some excellent storylines with the likes of Rey Mysterio and Big Show, and the group was a featured part of the product.
CM Punk's epic promo during the Royal Rumble came during this time, and that is something that is often remembered. However, the group itself simply isn't mentioned as much as they deserve when it comes to epic factions.
A big reason for that is likely the fact that Punk isn't someone WWE talks about at all. Had he still been around in WWE, or if they had parted terms positively, there's a chance that the company would have mentioned this group a lot, which would then have forced the narrative onto the fans.

However, whenever there are lists created by the company, or something where they could be discussed, it never happens. It is a petty situation, but sadly it has led to a lot of fans forgetting about them when compared to many other great factions.
While some of the hardcore wrestling fans will always remember this group because they were very entertaining. They might not have had quite the impact of D-Generation X or the nWo, but they are one of the best groups of all time, which deserves to be mentioned.
