Why WWE's Judgment Day Is Better Than The Bloodline

Highlights

  • The Bloodline's cohesion as a faction has declined in the past six months due to Sami Zayn's involvement, while The Judgment Day has grown stronger and become WWE's most successful faction.
  • Over a year ago, The Bloodline was the dominant faction with Roman Reigns as champion, Paul Heyman as the "Wise Man," and The Usos as tag team champions. The Judgment Day was struggling to find their footing.
  • In the present day, The Bloodline has undergone changes and struggles, while The Judgment Day has retained its dominance. Each member of The Judgment Day holds gold, showcasing their unity and strength in numbers.

Let's start off by saying this. This is not a knock against The Bloodline whatsoever or anything the group has accomplished in the past couple of years in WWE. However, as we examine what The Bloodline has done in the past six months to the present day, in comparison to The Judgment Day on Monday Night RAW, you can clearly see how consistent and cohesive they have worked as a faction. The Bloodline has been in shambles since Sami Zayn had gotten involved, setting the wheels in motion for the slow decline of the faction. Meanwhile, The Judgment Day only continues to get stronger, making them WWE's most successful and best faction by far.

A Year Ago The Bloodline Was Better Than The Judgment Day

The Bloodline titles raised

Now if we look and compare these two factions over a year or two ago, you could say The Bloodline would clearly be the dominant faction. Roman Reigns was (and still is) nearly unstoppable inside the ring as your reigning and defending WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. Paul Heyman working as the “Wise Man” was (and still is) at the top of his game and kept everyone in check if Roman wasn’t around. The Usos were the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions and did everything they could to stay on top of their game while also protecting Roman Reigns at all costs. Add in Solo Sikoa, who was the powerhouse Samoan brought up from NXT to become the sole protector/bodyguard to The Tribal Chief, and The Bloodline had all their ducks in a row and were firing on all cylinders. Sami Zayn being added as both the comic relief and wannabe “uce” helped breathe new life into the faction when it was starting to grow a bit stale at the time.

The Judgment Day at that time was struggling to find their footing. All the elements were put into place, but each member of the group had to find their calling. Finn Balor’s feud with Edge was white-hot. Rhea Ripley had just captured the WWE Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. Damian Priest was developing into his own and still trying to find his way. Dominic Mysterio was the “baby” of the group and was beginning to mature and grow as a major heel with the WWE Universe on a weekly basis, taking a page or two from the late Eddie Guerrero in his rivalry with his father, Rey Mysterio.

The Judgment Day Dominates Present Day WWE

As we fast-forward to the present day and observe both factions, it’s crystal clear how much The Bloodline has changed versus the evolution of The Judgment Day. The Bloodline lost Sami Zayn, The Usos split from the faction after being defeated for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships and were fed up with the treatment they had received from Roman Reigns because of this. Ultimately, Jey Uso would end up going on his own and moving completely away from the faction, as his brother Jimmy Uso found his way back into The Bloodline fold after helping Roman Reigns beat Jey Uso at SummerSlam. Solo Sikoa has had very little if any real change since joining the faction in terms of bringing gold to the group or anything of real value, outside of being Roman’s bodyguard. Paul Heyman has been trying to hold it together but to no avail prior to Reigns' return.

The Judgment Day has retained its dominance over the WWE. Rhea Ripley was clearly established as the leader of the faction, and it was well-deserved. Damian Priest captured the men’s Money in the Bank contract and became a co-holder of the Undisputed Tag Team Championships alongside Finn Balor. Dominic Mysterio expanded his heel persona, growing more hated each week by the WWE Universe, and became a two-time NXT North American Champion and furthered his on-screen relationship with “Mami”. Currently, each member of The Judgment Day has gold around their waist, with Damian Priest waiting in the wings to cash in his contract to become a future champion whenever that time comes.

The Judgment Day Succeeds By Working Together

When you look at both factions as they stand today, The Bloodline may finally be trying to pull the pieces back together and regroup with the current lineup of Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman. However, aside from Roman Reigns returning and showcasing that he is indeed still The Tribal Chief, the faction has been left in shambles in comparison to how things were a year ago.

The Judgment Day on the other hand? So far, the sky’s the limit. Their unity is shown each week on Monday Night RAW. Using their strength in numbers and underhanded tactics to get the job done each week helps make them a more dominant and cohesive faction than The Bloodline. Plus, having a lot of gold around their waist does help too.

The Judgment Day has proven that by working together, they will work through and conquer all that stand in their way. The Bloodline, however, has shown many kinks in their once untouchable armor.
