Who Is Jason Day's Wife?

During 2015 and 16, Jason Day was arguably the best golfer on the planet, racking up eight PGA Tour titles and becoming the world number one. It wasn't just the regularity of his wins, but also the quality of them, with victories including the PGA Championship, the Players Championship, one World Golf Championship and two FedEx Cup playoff titles.

The Aussie has struggled over the last few years though, primarily due to a continuous back injury that has seen him withdraw from a number of events. However, one person who has stayed by his side through thick and thin is his wife, Ellie.

Day first met his wife, Ellie, when he was just 17-years-old. She was working as a waitress in a restaurant in Ohio and the pair started dating a year or so later, eventually marrying in 2009. Together, they have four children - a son Dash, a daughter named Lucy and another two sons named Arrow, who arrived in late 2018 and Ozzie, who arrived in 2021.

Ellie has also moved on from her waitressing job, and is president of the Brighter Days Foundation, which has a mission of 'Working to meet basic needs, give hope, and support child-serving organizations in Central Ohio.'

Ellie is two years older than her husband and likes to keep a low profile on social media. Currently she has just under 30,000 followers on Instagram, primarily posting pictures of her family. She is also on Twitter, and has the mantra - 'It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice' - in her bio.

She describes herself as a small town Ohio girl (from Lucas, Ohio) who happens to love a guy who is good at golf and is often spotted supporting her husband in various different tournaments.

Away from the course, the Day's are also big basketball fans. However, in 2015, Ellie suffered an unfortunate accident when she was hospitalized by basketball player LeBron James.

Attending a Cleveland Cavaliers match, Day's favorite team, James accidentally tumbled into the crowd and landed on Ellie. As a result of the fall, she had to leave the arena on a stretcher and was taken to hospital, but luckily suffered no lasting injuries.

After the match, LeBron wished her well on Twitter, tweeting: "Ellie Day I hope you're okay! My apologies! Hope u guys come back to another game soon. Love LJ!!" Ellie had no hard feelings - with a friend reporting her message from her hospital bed: "He was just doing his job. Go Cavs.''
