Conchata Ferrell said "I do" to Anderson in the mid-1980s according to Promipool. At that time, she had appeared on several well known TV shows including Matlock, Night Court, and Who's The Boss. She would go on to appear in the iconic film starring Julia Roberts, Mystic Pizza, in 1988 (via IMDb). Meanwhile, Anderson, a sound mixer, had recently voiced a part in a documentary called The California Reich (via IMDb). Promipool notes the documentary was nominated for an Oscar in 1976.

Anderson and Ferrell obviously enjoyed much career success, but they also managed to have a family together — they share a daughter named Samantha. The spouses were clearly very dedicated to one another during their decades-long union. People reports Anderson previously cared for his wife during another illness last year. Clearly she suffered a lot in her final year. Samantha told The New York Times her mother died peacefully surrounded by family, which also includes two step-daughters, Lisa and Caitlin.
