Vince McMahon Won't Decide Who Gets WWE Hall Of Fame Inductions In 2024

As 2023 comes to an end, WWE will be gearing up for another big year in 2024. Its Superstars are already back on the road and SmackDown this Friday will be its last show of the year. Next will be a New Year's Day edition of Raw, and there's every chance plans for Royal Rumble and beyond will start to take shape in the next few days. We may even hear some news about 2024's Hall of Fame class, the first whose inductees won't be chosen by Vince McMahon.

Triple H's Hall Of Fame Class

The WWE chairman has historically made the call when it comes to who gets into the Hall of Fame each year. McMahon is no longer involved in the promotion's day-to-day though, and according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Triple H will take charge of selecting inductees for the first time. The criteria used to decide who gets inducted will likely remain the same, but The Game will be the one making the call.

It's noted in WON that certain criteria are used when piecing together the Hall of Fame class each year. That women and minorities are represented, that enough inductees are people fans will know well and recognize, and that those going in make sense politically. Regarding that last point, say WWE president Nick Khan believes someone should be inducted in 2024 for political reasons, he may also have a little input when deciding who's a part of next year's class.

Understanding The Process

Even though the process will likely be more or less the same, it will be interesting to see who goes in and to debate how the class might have differed had McMahon still been in charge. Some fans have predicted Chyna might finally get the solo induction people have been lobbying for. Chyna was inducted as a part of DX but isn't in alone. However, her close relationship with Triple H prior to his marrying Stephanie McMahon may mean she's inducted alone in 2024.

Even though McMahon won't have any official input, I'm assuming Triple H will go to him for advice on who to include in 2024's Hall of Fame class. Just like WWE creative, even though McMahon isn't involved, Triple H has explained it would be silly not to ask someone with that much experience for advice on certain topics. I'm just hopeful Bray Wyatt is inducted, and I'm also assuming 2024 will finally be the year Batista's long-overdue induction takes place.
