Triple H Details How WWE's White Rabbit Project Came Together

Triple H has brought a number of released wrestlers back to WWE since he was named head of creative. Most have been surprises, such as Dakota Kai walking out at SummerSlam and Gallows & Anderson showing up on Raw despite the latter still holding a NJPW championship. However, when The Game resecured the services of Bray Wyatt, he and WWE wanted to do something a bit more special.

Piecing Together The White Rabbit

Triple H spoke to The Wrap this week. The Hall of Famer detailed the thinking behind what he dubbed WWE's White Rabbit Project. “We created ‘The White Rabbit Project,’ intended to lead our audience down this literal rabbit hole of content to help build anticipation for Wyatt’s return,” Triple H explained (H/T to Fightful for the transcription).

“This is a great example of how WWE is uniquely positioned as a sports and entertainment property to harness the power of our shows and our social following to develop multimedia, long-term storytelling .” The weeks-long build to Wyatt's return included QR codes fans needed to seek out and scan, lights going out in arenas, and cryptic messages flickering up on screen.

What's Next For Wyatt?

Where that all goes now Wyatt is back remains unclear. The Eater of Worlds appears to have brought a number of other people with him, the identities of whom are currently still under wraps. Wyatt's only appearance on WWE TV since Extreme Rules was last week on SmackDown, during which he cut an emotional promo where he thanked fans for saving his life.

It has been evident in the past that WWE hasn't really known how to book Wyatt long-term. Now Triple H is in charge, things might be different this time. Wyatt is clearly convinced that will be the case, and the thought that went into bringing him back, as detailed above, is a good sign that WWE will get it right long-term this time around.
