Tony Khan Provides Jeff Hardy Update, Says Treatment Is Jeff's 'Last Chance'

AEW president Tony Khan had no problem addressing the elephants in the room during the pre-AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door media call on Friday, June 24. The card for the event -- which goes down in Chicago on Sunday, June 26 -- is absolutely stacked, but there are several noticeable omissions, including the legendary Jeff Hardy, who currently serving a suspension.

Jeff is doing much better,” TK said in an update on the situation. “As I understand, Jeff’s in treatment. I don’t want to say too much about what’s going on, because it’s his business, but I’m here for him, whatever he needs.”

As you might recall, Jeff Hardy was suspended by AEW after receiving a DUI earlier this month.

"AEW does not condone Jeff's alleged behavior," Tony Khan said in a statement a few days after the incident. "We've made it clear to Jeff we will assist him in getting treatment for substance abuse issues, which he has indicated he's open to receiving. In the interim, he is suspended without pay, and he can only return to AEW upon successfully completing treatment and maintaining his sobriety."

During the aforementioned media call, TK expressed hope that Jeff would successfully complete his treatment program because the veteran wrestler is all out of chances.

I feel like I’d be remiss if I didn’t give Jeff a lot of credit for now doing the right thing," Khan said. "And this is what we said — Jeff’s got to do the right thing if he wants to stay with AEW. Because it’s his last chance."

The All Elite Wrestling booker also addressed AEW's wellness policy and reiterated that the company is always willing to provide assistance to employees who need it.

"We do have a policy in place about making sure people come in and show up to work in the condition to work," he confirmed. "That’s the most important thing. There’s a testing policy.
