‘The Voice’ Teams: Season 3’s Performers

• Team Adam

  Adam Levine, frontman for Maroon 5, will enlist the help of Mary J. Blige as a mentor for his team this season.

• Bryan Keith

  Though his father is a well-known Latin singer, Bryan Keith never wanted to rely on his father's fame to find his own success. He wowed the coaches by singing "It Will Rain" during the blind auditions.
   

• Loren Allred

  Loren Allred is a singer/songwriter whose blind audition was not shown during the show, but was part of a montage. "I want somebody who is going to be hard on me. I want someone who is going to be brutally honest," she said in her post-audition interview.

• Joe Kirkland

  Joe Kirkland was part of a band, but the label dropped the group after their lead singer left. Now, he hopes to make it on his own with the help of The Voice and coach Levine.

• Nicole Nelson

  Nicole Nelsongot all four coaches to turn their chairs with her powerful performance of ""Hallelujah."lives the bohemian lifestyle, sharing a home with other artists, including her boyfriend and bandmate.

• Melanie Martinez

  With a style all her own, this singer says she used to be insecure about the gap between her front teeth, but now she’s developing her own style. During the blind auditions, she sang a unique rendition of Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” while playing guitar at the same time.

• Colin McLaughlin

  This NYU business grad school dropout decided to leave education behind to make his way in the music world.

• Sam James

  Sam James is another contestant who is returning after failing to impress the coaches in season two. He sang "Imagine" for his audition.

• Michelle Brooks Thompson

  After standing by her man as he tried to achieve his dreams of playing professional football, Michelle Brooks Thompson is ready to focus on her own singing career.

• Kayla Nevarez

  The 17-year-old’s dad couldn’t come to her audition because he’s going through some health problems. Their family had to move into a two-bedroom apartment because of financial strains, and Kayla now sleeps on the couch.

• Joselyn Rivera

  Another contestants with an amazing backstory, Rivera overcame a neurological disorder with the help of music. At first Aguilera isn’t aware that Shelton also pressed his button, so she talks to Rivera as if they’re already paired. But it doesn’t matter because Rivera picks Aguilera anyway.

• Amanda Brown

  Amanda Brown grew up singing church music, but expanded her music tastes as she got older. While she previously sang background for artists like Adele, she’s decided to focus on her own career.

• Samuel Mouton

  Samuel Mouton benefited from the blind auditions because his look doesn't exactly match his sound. The Colorado native who works in his family's restaurant has a passion for hip-hop and reggae music.

  This 26-year-old father of two impressed all the male coaches with his sorta-scratchy voice when he performed "Isn't She Lovely" during blind auditions.

  Benji, who was once trying to make it in the racing industry, left college to pursue a career in music.

• Adanna Duru

  Adanna Duru is just 17-year-old but has already developed a strong interest in philanthropy, and started a club at school to help raise awareness for sex trafficking in third world countries.

• Brandon Mahone

  Brandon Mahone was once a troublemaker who struggled with school, but plans to make his mark in music through The Voice.

• Team Blake

  Resident country coach Blake Shelton will team up with Michael Buble as a mentor for his team this season. Shelton's contestant last season, Jermaine Paul, won the show.

• Terry McDermott

  Originally from Scottland, Terry McDermott moved to the U.S. with his band, but is now trying to make it on his own.

• Gracia Harrison

  Gracia Harrison is a country girl, through and through. She sang "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart" to win a spot on resident country coach Shelton's team.

• Julio Cesar Castillo

  Julio Cesar Castillo was the first contestant to ever sing a song completely in Spanish. He grew up performing traditional mariachi music, but hopes to transition to pop music.

• Liz Davis

  This country crooner sang "Here for the Party" during her blind audition, and chose to be on Shelton's team after he started waving around that shiny ACM Award.

• Suzanna Choffel

  Suzanna Choffel is already a music teacher in her hometown in Austin, but hopes to make her own dreams come true through The Voice.

• Michaela Paige

  This rocker hosts three different Internet radio shows and has a passion for promoting the music of new artists.

• Cassadee Pope

  Cassadee Pope was the lead singer of Hey Monday, who toured with Fall Out Boy. The coaches love her rendition of “Torn,” and get into a heated argument over her. She ends up picking Shelton (who calls her a "superstar"), despite Aguilera and Levine’s fight for her.

• Rudy Parris

  The long-haired singer may look like a rocker, but he's all country deep down. He has always wanted to be on tour, but took time off to be a good parent. Now that his daughter is 22, he wants to pursue music again.

• MarissaAnn

  MarissaAnn is just 15 years old, but she's on a mission to be a pop star with the help of resident pop star Christina Aguilera. A rare liver disease nearly took MarissaAnn's life as a child, but her father gave her part of his, and every day she's able to make music is a gift.

• Casey Muessigmann

  With a last name pronounced "music-man," how could Casey not be a famous singer? The country crooner put his love for music on hold to follow his dreams of wrestling, but now he's ready to commit to music full-time.

• 2 Steel Girls

  2 Steel Girls is a mother-daughter singing duo. They are also part of a family band back home. A duo has never made it to the final rounds of The Voice, so they hope to be the first.

• Lelia Broussard

  This 23-year-old began singing at the age of three and moved from Louisiana to NYC to pursue her musical career when she was only 17.

• Charlie Rey

  This handsome guy who works in his dad’s garage is hoping to make it big as a singer. After Shelton points out, “I couldn’t catch your name because these girls won’t stop screaming,” Rey chooses to be on Shelton’s team.

• Ryan Jirovec

  Ryan Jirovec could be the Chris Mann of season three, with his unique brand of "popera."

• Kelly Crapa

  A country girl from New Fairfield, CT, Kelly Crapa has a passion for charity work, volunteering with Relay for Life and the Wounded Warriors Project.

• Nicole Johnson

  This 18-year-old has been singing and writing music since she as 7 years old. She moved to Nashville to pursue music.

• Team Christina

  Christina Aguilera is still looking for her first champion on The Voice. She'll team up with Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong as a mentor this season.

• Deborah

  Deborah comes from a big Christian family with 11 children, but was ousted from her church singing group when she started to dress differently. She sang "Hey Soul Sister" for her audition, winning over coach Aguilera.

• Adriana Louise

  The pop singer shared a haunting story with audiences, revealing that she was held at gunpoint as a child during an attempted robbery/kidnapping. She belted out "Domino" to win a spot on Aguilera's team.

• Aquile

  Aquile, an expectant father, song "Your Song" during the blind auditions. Originally from small town Douglas, Wyoming, he now resides in San Diego.

• Devyn Deloera

  Once so shy that she had to be home schooled, Devyn Deloera is ready to break out of her shell. Her pop inspirations include Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson.

• Sylvia Yacoub

  This singer grew up in Egypt but moved to the U.S. in hopes of more opportunities for women.

• Chevonne

  Chevonne has been a background singer for Lady Gaga. She’s another one who wants to be a star on her own. Green says he hears “pain” in her voice, which then causes her to reveal that he suffered from an eating disorder. She decides to go with Green, which makes sense with her unique style.

• Laura Vivas

  Laura Vivas mixes Latin and funk with the R&B and pop music styles that have surrounded her in her upbringing in Florida.

• Dez Duron

  After dropping out of Yale to audition for season two of The Voice, Dez Duron was sent home empty handed. Instead of returning to school, he worked on his voice, and returned to audition for season three.

• Celica Westbrook

  Celica was nearly signed to a record deal when she was younger and almost went on tour with Justin Bieber. Aguilera gives her a standing ovation, and Celica joins her as the final member of her team.

• Alessandra Guercio

  Currently a student at the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Alessandra Guercio didn't even tell her classmates she was auditioning for the show because she didn't want to jinx it.

• Lisa Scinta

  Lisa Scinta had once been on her way to the Olympics as a gymnast, but found that music was her true calling.

• Nelly’s Echo

  Nelly's Echo fled his homeland of Nigeria at the age of 15. At the time, his family was forced to leave his father behind because he was incarcerated. The entire family has since been reunited in the U.S. and reside in Baltimore.

• Paulina

  This 16-year-old acoustic pop vocalist's YouTube videos have logged nearly 26 million views, but she's hopes to move from viral sensation to the big leagues with the help of The Voice.

• Beat Frequency

  The duo is an energetic married couple who sang "E.T" to win their spot on Aguilera's team.

• Nathalie Hernandez

  This 15-year-old says she missed her prom and her brother’s graduation for the auditions.

• Jordan Pruitt

  Jordan Pruitt discovered her passion for music at age nine and had a recording contract with Hollywood Records by 14.

• Team Cee Lo

  Cee Lo Green, who has yet to have a contestant win The Voice, will enlist the help Matchbox 20 singer Rob Thomas to help with his team this season.

  "We do realize that it’s a legacy that we’re leaving and it’s history that we’re making," he tells THR. "It’s a labor of love and we love it. We’re not obligated to be here."

• Daniel Rosa

  Daniel Rosa was cut from season two of The Voice, but now he's back and ready to work with Green towards redemption. This indie-pop artist is inspired by Stevie Wonder and can also play the ukulele.

• Trevin Hunte

  While in high school, Trevin Hunte was bullied by his peers and was even told by a teacher that he would never make it in music. He's overcome those hardships to make it onto The Voice and prove that teacher wrong.

• Mackenzie Bourg

  Mackenzie Bourg overcame congestive heart failure last year, and credits music with helping him get through this major challenge. He sang "Pumped Up Kicks" to get Green's attention. Just don't compare him to Justin Bieber.

• Nicholas David

  Nicholas David used to be in a band, but lost his way with the partying and drinking. Now, he’s trying to get his life back on track, and hopes Green can get him there. His unique sound is perfect for Green's team.

• Avery Wilson

  Avery Wilson thought he was a dancer, just like the rest of his family. But his voice amazed the judges, even though he had never had any professional training.

• Mycle Wastman

  This 40-year-old singer was raised by his grandfather after his parents died. His grandfather died a week and a half before his Voice audition. “I don’t sound anything like I look,” he says. Green, calling Wastman a “soul brother,” says this performance was the highlight of his day.

• Diego Val

  Another contestant with a backstory involving a health issue, Diego Val found music while he was being treated in a poor Peruvian hospital for Perthes, a rare condition of the hip.

• Cody Belew

  Green completes his team – and thus the blind auditions – by taking on this 27-year-old country-turned-soul singer. It's a great way to end the show with Belew's adorable shock when he realizes that Green hit his button.

• Terisa Griffin

  Soul singer Terisa Griffin — who has been mentored by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jerry "Ice Man" Butler — left her hometown in Louisiana to move to Chicago and pursue a music career.

• Caitlin Michelle

  The girl with the colorful hair suffers from an extreme panic disorder. But music was her medicine, as she says. She sings the Florence + the Machine song pretty well, but the true test will be if she can sing anything else.

• JR Aquino

  JR Aquino is a YouTube star who lives in Alaska, and has really enthusiastic parents. He sang "Just the Way You Are" to woo the judges.

  This sassy songstress sang "Don't Cha" during the blind auditions to win over the heart of Green, who produced the song. She's been a professional hip-hop dancer for seven years, and hopes to move her star into the singing universe.

  Private music teacher Todd Kessler really hopes to take his indie folk pop music to the next level on The Voice.

• Ben Taub

  Aspiring to be either a performer or a foreign correspondent, Ben Taub is currently studying at Princeton University in New Jersey.

• Alexis Marceaux

  Alexis Marceaux is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina who still resides in New Orleans. She's an indie singer who calls herself "quirky" and "outgoing."

  Originally from Colorado Springs, Emily Earle left home at 18 to pursue her passion for music. She made her way to New York City where she made a living playing in the subways. She now resides in Nashville.
