The Undertaker Calls Out Hulk Hogan, Details Their Backstage Beef

Over these past few months months, The Undertaker (real name Mark Calaway) has gradually broken character by opening up more about his personal life. Fans are getting a never-before-seen and close-up look at the man behind the legendary wrestling gimmick.

There's a long list of WWE legends who simply didn't get along with one another outside of the ring, but you don't usually hear The Undertaker's name in such conversations.

For 30 years, The Undertaker has been the model WWE superstar. He's been the marquee leader backstage, and for many years, he took care of the backstage drama and issues for Vince McMahon.

But even The Undertaker went through some backstage tension with other all-time greats. Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels recently admitted that he and The Deadman didn't exactly care for one another.

During an interview with ESPN (h/t Abhilash Mendhe of Sportskeeda), Undertaker detailed the beef he had with Hulk Hogan just as his career was beginning to take off.

Undertaker defeated Hogan at Survivor Series 1991 to capture his first WWE Championship. Hogan claimed that Undertaker injured his neck during the match, but The Deadman accused him of lying.

"Finally, I got to San Antonio," Undertaker explained, "I was like, 'Terry, I watched it back, your head never hit!' He's like, 'Brother, what it was is you had me so tight, that when we came down, I had nowhere to move, and that's what jammed my neck. I couldn't move at all.' At that point, then I was like, 'Okay,' I kind of realized I know what you're all about, and that's all I needed.

Hogan returned to WWE in 2002, following a six-year run in WCW. Undertaker greeted Hogan following his return, but the animosity was still here.

"I was not overly friendly, but I did, you know, if he was in the building, I always made sure to say hello, and engage him in conversation. But, you know, l've always, like I said, from that Tuesday In Texas, when I got that answer, I knew all I needed to know about him. And then, you know, that's the way it's always... my radar was always up, anytime I had to interact with him."

For what it's worth, longtime WWE producer Bruce Prichard revealed back in December that Undertaker indeed had hostility towards Hogan.

But unlike several other WWE legends, The Undertaker simply didn't let bitter feelings get in the way. He went out and did his business each and every night, refusing to let backstage politics get in the way of his illustrious career.

Undertaker Isn't The Only One

The Undertaker isn't the only big-named superstar who had issues with Hogan. 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart also didn't hide their feelings towards the former face of professional wrestling. But up until now, Undertaker kept his feelings towards Hogan to himself.
