The Truth About Miranda Kerr's Marriage To Evan Spiegel
Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel met in a way that only two posh people can — at a party hosted by Louis Vuitton at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. According to WSJ Magazine, Spiegel was invited to the fall 2014 event by French telecom billionaire Xavier Niel. Knowing Spiegel was attending without a date, Niel asked his life partner, Delphine Arnault, to find a suitable seat mate for the tech genius. Arnault immediately thought of Kerr. "I thought, 'She is very beautiful; I'm sure he will have a good time,'" she told the publication.
Arnault was right. The two hit it off, bonding over Kerr's favorite piece of classical music, "Spiegel im Spiegel," and Spiegel gave Kerr his number. Per WSJ Magazine, Glenda Bailey, the editor of Harper's Bazaar at the time, told Kerr, "You're going to marry that guy." However, instead of hanging around to chat with Kerr further, according to the supermodel, "All of a sudden he gets up" and leaves the dinner before it ended. About his surprising Irish goodbye, Spiegel told WSJ: "I thought I had no chance [with Miranda], so I wasn't going to waste my time."
