The main event of WrestleMania is traditionally the biggest match of the year, and in most instances, it features a World Championship match. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, WrestleMania has become a two-night extravaganza, which has given more wrestlers opportunities to headline WrestleMania.

Some of the most recent WrestleMania main events have been a mixture of fantastic and underwhelming. The personnel involved are fantastic in-ring performers, but some of them are more likable than others within the WWE Universe.

12 Jimmy Uso

Unquestionably, The Usos are future WWE Hall of Famers, and they made history at WrestleMania 39 as they were the first WWE Tag Team Champions to defend their titles in the main event of WrestleMania. Jimmy and his brother Jey headlined WrestleMania for the first time and they were up against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Jimmy excelled in the Bloodline, but he wasn't as popular as his brother "Main Event" Jey Uso. Nevertheless, The Usos' historic 622-day reign as Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions came to a halt.

11 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has headlined the last three WrestleManias at WrestleMania 37, WrestleMania 38, and WrestleMania 39 wherehe defended the WWE Universal Championship. Reigns faced Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match to retain the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37.

The Tribal Chief cemented his dominance when he beat Brock Lesnar in a Winner Takes All match at WrestleMania 38 to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Reigns received more hate from the WWE Universe when he stopped Cody Rhodes from finishing the story at WrestleMania 39.

10 Jey Uso

"Main Event" Jey Uso walked down the aisle alongside his brother Jimmy in their historic 622-day reign as Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Saturday. The Usos had a brilliant performance, and they fought like fighting champions.

Jey was still a heel at this point, and being associated with The Bloodline meant he was disliked. However, his friendship with Sami Zayn was one of his highlights in the Bloodline. Ultimately, The Usos dropped the titles to Zayn and Owens.

9 Kevin Owens

The former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens has headlined back-to-back WrestleManias, and there are several of the all-time greats who have managed to achieve that feat. KO clashed with a returning Steve Austin in an entertaining main event on the first night of WrestleMania 38 with the six-time WWE Champion triumphant.

Owens found himself back into another WrestleMania main event on the first night of WrestleMania 39. Alongside Sami Zayn, they ended The Usos' 622-day Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship reign and with the victory, KO became a Grand Slam Champion.

8 Sasha Banks

The second women's WrestleMania main event featured Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair clashing over the SmackDown Women's Championship on the first night of WrestleMania 37. This was a historic night as the Boss and Belair became the first black women to main event WrestleMania.

The Boss was a heel at this point, but she was still one of the most popular women's wrestlers on the roster. They knocked it out of the park in a fantastic wrestling match, but Banks' SmackDown Women's Championship reign came to an end by the EST of WWE.

7 Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar was no stranger to headlining WrestleMania, and the Beast Incarnate featured in his fifth WrestleMania main event on night two of WrestleMania 38 when he faced off with his rival Roman Reigns. This was one of the biggest main events in the history of WrestleMania as Lesnar's WWE Championship and Reigns' Universal Championship were up for grabs in a Winner Takes All match.

Lesnar's seventh WWE Championship reign was underwhelming, but fans preferred to see Lesnar go over Reigns. That failed to materialize with Reigns ending Lesnar's WWE Championship reign to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

6 Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair won the 2021 women's Royal Rumble match, and she opted to face Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women's Championship. This was a mouthwatering prospect, and Belair and the Boss got the nod to headline night one of WrestleMania 37.

Belair was on the way to becoming one of the top babyfaces in WWE, and she had a remarkable match with Banks. Belair was overcome with emotion before the bell sounded as Belair and Banks made history. Nonetheless, Belair finished off Banks with KOD to secure her first SmackDown Women's Championship reign.

5 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan was one of the hottest babyfaces in 2013 and 2014 and fans rejoiced when he won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 30. Seven years later, Bryan was once again featured in a triple threat match in the main event of WrestleMania at WrestleMania 37 against Roman Reigns and Edge for the Universal Championship.

Bryan was going to leave WWE a month after WrestleMania, and he had a fantastic performance. He was still popular with the WWE Universe in 2021, but he was unable to clinch the WWE Universal Championship from Reigns.

4 Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn is one of the most popular stars in 2023 after he turned on Roman Reigns and left the Bloodline. Zayn was in World Championship contention but after failing to beat Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Zayn teamed up with Kevin Owens and they challenged The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship on night one of WrestleMania 39.

Zayn still had the WWE Universe behind them, and they were pulling for Zayn and KO to get the job done. They clinched the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in an outstanding main event.

Edge won the 2021 men's Royal Rumble match, and he headlined WrestleMania for the first time in 13 years. The Rated-R Superstar had a fantastic entrance at WrestleMania 37, and he challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship with Daniel Bryan involved to make it a triple threat match.

The Ultimate Opportunist was hoping to win the Universal Championship for the first time, but he made unwanted history at WrestleMania. He became the first two-time Royal Rumble winner to not convert their Rumble win into a World Championship triumph.

The unthinkable happened in the main event of WrestleMania 38 when Steve Austin came out of retirement, and he faced off with Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. The Texas Rattlesnake hadn't lost a step, and it was a superb contest between the pair.

The six-time WWE Champion is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and fans were pleased to see Austin in action in front of his hometown fans in Texas. Austin prevailed in his first WrestleMania main event in 21 years.
